Ditto James' words on #389. Stunning, blood red (all the better to hide the stains ), beautiful. Like all ERA's it has the right "stance" (IMHO). As a former ERA owner I'm sure the ride and handling are as nice as the appearance.

Both are nice cars, and fine examples of some of the nicer deals on used ERA 427 SCs out there right now.

The only thing that bhothers me about the blue ERA on ebay is the tire wear doesn't match the miles. enlarge the pic of the front tire. looks life a couple thousand miles. I could be wrong though.

I hear that the paint on the blue car might be a bit questionable too.

From Who or whom? A friend see it? The owner did state it wasn't show quality.
Curious?

Someone told me that they had seen it before the current owner got it and the paint had several problems. I understand that the current owner has corrected a lot of them, but not all.

Ok, another "hearsay"-- not faulting you. But I might be interested in this car--a paint job is just that, it can be corrected.
Since the owner is in CO, and I have a car-nut brother in law not far from him and is willing to check it out for me. His Reserve must be a little high?

I am the owner of ERA 654 now on Ebay. Regarding the tires, they are Hoosier street legal slicks, they come with very little tread to begin with. The original owner represented the mileage to me as being correct, and I absolutely believe him considering the complete lack of wear anywhere else on the car. The paint I do not represent being of show quality, and that is reflected in the price. It is now a very presentable paint job after 8 days of color sanding and buffing. Whoever painted it just didn't finish the job, I did it for him. Some very knowledgeable people who have seen the car say that I am underselling the paint, I want to be conservative and give the eventual buyer a pleasant surprise. Take the car, drive the heck out of it, chip up the paint, and redo it in a few years if you want to make it a trailer queen.
The car speaks for itself regarding the quality of construction, components, options, and powerplant. How can you go wrong with a factory built car with 231 miles on it? I welcome any and all questions and would very much appreciate your calls. You can reach me at 970 385 4045.
Thanks,
Kelly Lupton

Both the Red and the Blue ERA's on e-bay right now are fine examples. There both close enough in terms of mileage, wear and tear etc. it really comes down to what color you like! Heck they even both have the same motors.
As neither comes with a 427 side oiler it will be interesting to see how they do at the "Buy it Now" price. More or less than $49K? The jury is still out!
So how come I think BOTH are "close" to the same miles? The Red one has about 10K, the blue one only a few hundred. 10K aint squat on one of these cars, barely enough miles to make sure it's 100% sorted out and solid. Being an ERA one could assume the blue one with a few hundred is also "sorted and solid". Apples and oranges in my book with no advantage going to either one based on "mileage".

Ernie: I don't know about the cars being "equal" in milage. I would say that a 10 thousand+ milage difference would normally make a big difference in ANY car sale, let alone a Cobra. Heck, in THESE cars that could be a number of YEARS worth of driving to some of us!
I do agree that these are both fine examples of ERA's and it will be interesting to see what they go for (with the 428's vs 427's). Of course, you don't see too many "poor" examples of ERA's out there. The one's I've seen left me with a big smile on my face.
