No Cobra-- 1979 F-250 4x4
Posting this for a relative just in case anyone is interested........here's the deal, just recently retired FAA mechanic bought a Dodge 1-ton dually diesel, has his old truck up for sale.........
1979 Ford F-250 4x4
Maroon and silver in color
4.11 gears and posi-trac front & rear (both gone thru this year)
Automatic (C-6),power steering/power brakes/a/c
After the origianl 360 cu.in. died about 10 years ago,the owner found a 1972 429 cu. in. to replace the 360,he also wanted more "pulling power",the block is a 1972,but he also found and rebuilt a set of C-8 (1968 Thunder Jet heads,10.5 to1 compression)to top off the engine (original 1972 heads go with the deal),it is still standard bore as it did not have enough wear in the cylinders to warrant boring, the cylinders were honed and the motor was rebuilt to factory specs and has a stock iron 2-V intake and carb on it.......This thing pulls like a frieght train from idle on.....he has put about 3 to 4 thousand miles a year on it as he had an old Ranchero as his daily driver......The truck is in A-1 mechanical shape and the body has a dent on the passenger door and a few little "door dings" but other than that is in very good shape,he had it repainted about 10 years ago,it also has mud grip tires with about 50% or better rubber........He has gone on a small vacation this week and should be home sunday and the truck will go in the local paper for sale next week,if anyone is interested, you can e-mail me for pictures and any other info,he would like to get $2,750.00 for it,it is currently licensed and tagged in Louisiana and is still being driven, located in central Louisiana........
