Kinda like this one on Hemmings but a little too pricey for my wallet - I've been looking for a couple months now.
http://www.hemmings.com/index.cfm/fu...icle_id/212641
I cannot afford a 65, was hoping to find a decent 66 in the price range of $40,000 to $49,000. I could probably go to a 67 if push came to shove, but I really don't care for the 'cougar' tail lights on the 67.
Good luck with your search!

Those are last years prices. wait until the next Barret Jackson Price push. Rumor has it that they plan to put these cars out of reach for the Common Man.

Funny thing about GT350's and 500's lately - there is an endless supply of them for sale....yet not one ever reaches its reserve on ebay. Is this a case where the bidders are speaking?
Are the owners just liking to see what the "retail" is, and hope there may be that odd guy that wiill actually hit the artificially inflated reserve?
David....I think BJ is a terrific marketing machine...I also rememebr the artificial price run-up and then subsequent Ferrari price crash of years ago.....

65's or worth about double what a 66 will bring strictly because of the number made both years........
The 66 in Hemmings is a little "pricey" I think,in the last few months I know of a couple of 66s that went between 48k and 65k depending on the car.....I think in real world prices they are worth in the 50's,but that's not BJ prices either........
There is going to be an early 65 up for sale near the end of 2005 or early 2006 and it is one of the most original ones left, has made about 6 magazine covers over the years and has all documentation since bought new,it will not sell for less than 100k............

Auctions of All Items have had False Pricing Games throughout time. What actually seperates The 1960's SHELBY Automobiles from the Other Muscle Cars is that They actually were Created By a Racing Legend who has done nothing but Grow in Fame within the Automotive World. They were Raced in Numerous Competitions. I never saw a Big Block Chevelle at Daytona doing the Oval thing But They Damn sure Pull Mad Money. Carroll Shelby is a Living Breathing ICON that Love him or Hate him Puts Magic in the air wherever he goes. I do not know who designed the Hemi Cuda Because their name is not associated with the vehicle. As for the Ferrari issue, They were never found on the streets of America for $1500.00 Dollars in the mid 70's because of their lack of Desirability due to The Gas Crisis. They were expensive from day one and went through the Roof. and one other Note, FERRARI is the name of a guy who Raced his products and was Alive....I see a pattern developing. Anyway speaking as a guy marketing his own 68 SHELBY, I have watched my Car appreciate immensely in the three years I have owned it. And Take note My Car is NOT on EBAY! But a Friend of Mine in the Last 3 Months, Put a 68 GT500KR that was a Real Red Car But Painted Black, Automatic, and was at $46K when a Buyer contacted him and convinced him to stop the auction for $60K. And That my Friend is a FACT! So I still believe these Cars are Hot and Getting Hotter.

David - I don't disagree with any of what you say - if I were you, I'd be holdin' not sellin' . You certainly bought at the right time. I was just passing on my eBay observatons...it just seems curious when there are no auctions for an item that reach a succesful close...I realize it doesn't mean sales don't take place off eBay. ..I also personally think $55K for a 67 GT500 needing complete restoration and not reaching reserve is nuts...but what do I know...I just own a lowly ERA.....
David - btw - my personal computer has been in the shop for a complete software reinstall. I am accessing via my work pc - I'll drop you line when I get it back. cheers.

Bruce,. I did not Buy my car for investment purposes. I bought it to fill a void and to derive pleasure. The fact that it increased in Value is only a Bonus. Let the next guy who buys my car be the one who Laughs all the way to the Bank. I am just looking to Fill the next desired vehicle with a CSX4000 series car. to do that, I must create a Void in my Garage where the GT500 is parked to finance the venture!! My good friend Steve Trevison sold a 67 GT500 in 1998 that was a Trailer perfect Concours car. He pulled a whopping $30K. He did good for himself as he had enjoyed the Car for years and turned a Nice profit upon the cars sale. Today that car in that condition properly marketed would undoubtedly get into the $100K+ club. He is not kicking himself. What I am faced with is the Fact that life is too short to not do what you enjoy. I was at a car show today and watched as people stopped and stared at my car and pointed and asked questions. I usually step back and act like another curious onlooker myself. These shows are a Fun time for me and my 6 year old Car nut son. I want a COBRA, but the downside of a Cobra today versus my GT500 was the sudden Downpour! I would not have been able to sit in my Cobra and stay out of that Mess for 30 minutes like I did in the GT500!! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving and look forward to getting together again when the weather breaks- Dave

Dave,
Give it another week, then build a nice web page and list it on Ebay. With it's documented color, and current condition, coupled with the "Holiday season", it will meet your reserve price.
Just my two cents worth if your truly serious about selling it.
Bill S.
PS: Have any questions or need any assistance in setting things up, just let me know.

Dave - I'll give you $40K right now today for yours .
Seriously, you may want to read Jamo's current post about Shelby before turning the proceeds of your sale over to Shelby.....

Understand your feelings. Filled my Cobra void by purchasing an SPF 2 years ago. Thought about selling 1 of the Shelbys because of a parking crunch but the real struggle was which one to sell, Big Block or Small Block? Decised it was too hard, (cars have been in the family 15 years) so it was easier just to keep them and pass them down through the family. May get even harder if my buddy decides to sell his 66 Gt-350. I asked for 1st dibs when and if it ever comes up for sale. Make sure the CSX car is everything you want and expect. Once you have sold the GT-500 if may be a lot harder to get back into the game.

I have plenty of Parking, it is all about the CASH that I can tie up in a Toy right now. I know all about the rising price of SHELBY's. I did just come in to a 69 Mach1 351 4V 4 Speed car one owner car that was a very good friends vehicle. The emotional attachment to that car is a strong one and will help me scratch my Mustang itch when it comes along! Thanks for your insight Kevin.

I'll hold out... still think I can find a drivable 66 GT350 for less than cars currently on ebay and hemmings; might need paint interior, etc.
Lot'sa clones out there, but really no interest in spending $20,000 on a car that won't hold any value. For that kinda change, I would think that I could find a really nice stock car.
Mr. Mustang, if you can help - give me a yell. (you might not remember me - we spent a couple hours talking at the hotels at DVSF III while everyone else went to the lake).
