Unique Motorcars Kit for sale
This is a Unique Motorcars 289 FIA replica. This is one of the closest replica's to the original car I have ever seen. All the measurements have been painstakingly reproduced, including the slight difference in headlight height. It is registered as a 1965 Ford and is currently non-opped, so no fees are due and no smog required. This is no cheapo Factory Five car that uses a late model mustang as a donor. It has a fully independent suspension with tubular control arms and all coilovers, a Dana 44 differential (2 supplied, one for track one for street), Halibrand wheels, awesome paint job, and every Cobra part necessary. This car was taken apart to get motor and transmission upgrades, and modifications to the footwells, for better passenger comfort. The previous owner couldn't do it himself and ran out of money, so I am selling it for him. It was brought to my shop in close to the condition you see. The car is complete except for footwells and floors, a bellhousing/scattershield with correct hydraulic throwout bearing and starter, and carburetor with corresponding fuel pump. The car has a driveshaft but needs it to be changed for the new World Class T-5 5 speed. The car had 2428 miles when parked. In 1994 it won the Run and Gun for it's class. Since it was a 289 FIA car it weighs just over 2400 lbs and should have 350+ horsepower.
The paint cost $10000 and was over a year to do. It currently only shows a few small rock chips and one crack in the left rear under the fender from a jack. You can easily see from the pics the paint was as close to perfect as you could get when new. The side marker light holes can be seen in the doors and need only to be put back on. It has a full compliment of Stewart Warner gauges with matching speedometer and complete wiring harness. Also included is an Edelbrock Air-fuel Monitor, for easy carburetor calibration. The steering wheel is stainless with walnut rim and the correct AC insignia for a 289 FIA car.
The front suspension is tubular Mustang 2 with coilovers. The rear is Jaguar from an XJS V12 and was built with and extra center section. The Jag rear also has 4 coilovers to keep it off the ground. Both diffs are Dana 44 units with Auburn limited slip, and had new gearsets when installed . One being a 3.31 to 1 and the other a 4.11 to 1. The entire suspension has been set-up for hot-street and good track/pro solo competition. Bump steer has been eliminated and the proper toe and camber/ caster adjusted. It has a performance quick ratio rack and super heavy duty Borgeson joints.
The brakes are 12.5" PBR's from Baer Racing. The rears are the standard Jag inboard with e-brake assembly and performance friction pads all around.
The wheels are the correct Halibrand pin drive knock-offs at each corner. They really make the look of the car, as it should be.
The motor is a .030" over 302 with 10.5 to 1 TRW forged pistons, it has an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, MSD 6AL ignition box the block is a freshly bored .030 with new cam bearing and brass freeze plugs installed. The heads have been completely gone through and have been ported and polished, along with all new valves, valve guides, seals, hardened exhaust seats, retainers, 10 degree locks, and Performer RPM springs.
The cooling system has the original style electric fans or a high performance late model electric fan is supplied for use. The lower hose is steel with rubber fittings to go through the frame. The radiator is a Griffin, Aluminum with copper and brass. This is the absolute BESt for cooling and is also light weight.
The new parts include:
Sealed Power moly rings, all bearings, complete Fel-Pro engine gasket set, World Class T-5 five speed, Crane Magnum roller rockers, hardened pushrods, double roller timing chain, hydraulic lifters, valve guides, valve seals, retainers and locks, Performer RPM springs10.5 Ford Racing clutch-pressureplate-flywheel, roller bearing input shaft bearing, 3/8 rocker studs, Manley stainless steel 1.94" intake valves and 1.56" exhaust. Melling high volume oil pump, and extra duty oil pump drive shaft.
The list of high performance parts goes on and on, I am sure I am missing a few items. I will be adding more to the description as I get questions.
The car can also be fully assembled and finished if desired. I would expect this car to sell easily for $35k when done if not more. It is a beautiful car and you won't be disappointed with any part of it. Just for a quick summary of pieces into it:
Halibrand wheels and pin drives new: $3500
Paint New : $10000
T-5 Trans with clutch/flywheel/pressureplate: $1500
Cobra kit: $12000
Hipo 302: $3500
PBR brakes: $600
Built Jag Rear plus spare diff: $3500
That's a total of $34,600. That's not including any wiring, gauges, tires, mastercylinders...etc. You can see well over $40k was originally spent. Take advantage of this amazing deal!

Forgotten price $22.5k OBO
Sorry about that. I am asking $22,500 for everything. That's about 1/2 price of what it cost to build and the parts, not counting any labor.

That price will also include motor installation and making sure the car is a full roller for shipping.

It seems people want to purchase the car without engine, transmission, and MSD . I'll ask $18,000. (That's just the price of a nonassembled kit and the wheels) I have already contacted Unique Motorcars about supplying the missing footboxes and sent them the necessary pictures, so they know what is involved.

A PM is a private message. Check the lower left corner of the club cobra cover page and you will see a private message alert box that will give you the option to go directly to the message that has been sent.
