I believe the doors give it away as a Classic Roadster.

Roadster??
Hmm. I've been told all along that this is a Roadster. However, I must admit that I never got close to a Cobra until I helped build this one - other than admiring them as they flew past me on the highway.
How do you tell the difference? And is there documentation somewhere that I should have that tells me?

It looks like one that has been a little personalized. CR provides a
vin plate that should have been istalled in the engine compartment
or on one of the door posts. The builder might not have done that - yet.
Hope this helps.

hello, Cindy. A roadster has no top, was designed to not have one. A convertible has a removable top.
Kristen
pretty car, BTW.

Actually, Roadsters DO have tops. The classic definition of a roadster versus a convertible is that roadsters have side curtains and convertibles have roll up windows (without door framing, a Cabriolet is a convertible w/coupe doors...framing). If it was never designed to have a top it would fall in another category all together.... if it is without a top it is just a topless roadster. This is the generally accepted definition that has been in the rodding/antique car community for about ever. All original Cobras are roadsters and had tops available (or included) with side curtains. MGB..convertible....TR3...roadster.

"Roadster" as used in the title of this thread refers only to the Manufacturers name... Classic Roadsters. Glad we got the definition straight though.

thanks, woods, didn't know the specific differences. Alright, Cindy, now we know!
You have a "topless roadster" built by "Classic Roadsters"

So, now that it has been decided that I have a topless roadster, does that mean that you can purchase tops for my roadster? Could come in useful in Colorado.
And, since you are all being so helpful - could you help me out with another question? I've been asked by several people who the manufacturer is. I don't know. I checked the installation manual, the title, and the vechicle vin plate. The only information that I could find is what was on the vehicle vin plate: A.C. Cars Ltd. Thames Ditton, England. There is also a chassis number and and engine number on the plate. I know (at least I think I know) that the originals were made in England so A.C. Cars can't be my manufacturer.
Can someone give me some guidance as to who these manufacturers are, and how to determine mine? A URL or reference documentation would be great for my learning curve.
Thanks - Cindy

Cindy, I am the manufacturer of your car. Classic Roadsters II located in Sauk Centre, MN. I bought Classic Roadsters about a year and a half ago. They were located in Fargo, ND. You can check out our website, www.classicroadsters.com or give us a call @ 1-888-722-6272. We do make a soft top and a hard top for the car.
