Talking

No, not mine, not that I would not mind owning it, but now is not the time for me. Instead, I'm posting it for a friend who is not as internet friendly as I am. My fee, I hear I'm getting a free cup of coffee and a bagel for breakfast this coming weekend . The other car I'm trying to sell for another friend, he keeps offering me one or more of his pets (dogs, cats, birds), but I graciously declined .Sooner or later I might get someone to pay me in cash (small, unmarked, non-sequential bills are preffered)

You don't see a car that nice that has seen track time very often. The new owner looks like they will have a great car - Those Dart motors seem to make a ton of horsepower!

Bill,
What gives? I musta missed something!! I can't believe that beauty is being sold. I'd love to have it.

If you're accepting bagels and pets as fees, we need to talk. Either that, or you're hanging out with the wrong crowd.

Question This is a beautiful car

Hey Bill and John!
I see you finally paid the electric bill so this site would open

When was the car built?

Is this a crate motor or an engine built from an older block (assume a new crate built to specs, but gotta be sure)?

The tranny? It's a T-5 (standard or WC)? You mention a midshift. (sorry), but what is that? New tranny or rebuilt?

Would you have the corner weights?

Torq-D's? Are they the "old" kind with the lug nuts that go 'thru' the wheel or the newer 'tapered seat' style?

Is all the paperwork available with the car? (receipts, notes, and what not)

Car is in NJ?

Thanks,
Doc

Sorry, I guess I'm a little (lot?) senile in my old age. I'll re-read it and find the build date, wheel type, paperwork, corner weight, and exact tranny type, location of car, and verification of engine in the original post.

Doc,

Build date, or finished date, it made it's first real excursion to WGI back in August of this year, had been on the road for a little over 4 months prior to that. The Torquethrust "D"'s are new, not sure if they have tapered seats or not, but I do know they are new out of the box when placed on the car. Paperwork, all paperwork will go with the car. Corner weights, yes (all documented, as is the rest of the car, including the engine), Transmission is not, I repeat NOT a T5, but a Tremec as stated above "Tremec road trans with .82 fifth gear and midshift conversion", the car is located in northern, NJ and is available for inspection by appointment only (per the owner), but can be seen 5-6 days a week as the owner is retired and is quite flexible with his current schedule. Any other questions, just let me know.

Bill S.

Thanks Bill,
I should have been more specific. I was wondering exactly what the corner weights were (racers have to know ). I knew the car weighed in at 2338#. LF, RF, RR, LR? I assume it was weighed and corner weighted with fluids and no driver?

Tremec bought Borg Warner and now the T-5 is a Tremec T-5. You have a 2.95 T-5, a 3550, TKO, et al. The old 3550 is in the original 95R's but has been improved because of cracking problems at the bell attachment. The newly released TKO has been improved and is now rated at 600ft/#'s of torque (TKO 1.0, TKO 2.0, TKO 2.0R). It comes with different options on 1-4 gear ratios (is that what you call midshift?). Also, the .82 5th which you had already addressed is one of several options (I assumed it has the better OD bearing). I've got 4 Tremecs in my basement and 2 installed in cars (and 2 CR toploaders and 3 WR toploaders).Tremec (link)

I'll assume the torg-D's are the new tapered seat wheels.

Thanks again for all your help!
Doc

Setting the weight and balance of a racecar without drivers weight in the seat and typically 1/2 load of fuel in the cell is a complete waste of time.

Beautiful car Bill!

Hope things are going better for you these days!

Big Foot,

Correct-o-mundo.....why corner weigh a car without the driver? What would that simulate? That would simulate a race car on a course without a driver.
