To whom It May Concern,
Here is a description of my Grady White:
The boat is 26 feet long, with a 10 foot beam. It is a very stable boat! For those that know boats they know the quality & craftsmanship of a Grady White, one of the best boats ever made. Each & every Grady White is made by hand by master boatbuilders and craftsman. I bought this boat from an old man in the fall of 2002, although the boat was in very good condition and seaworthy, there were something's I didn't care for. The electronics were the old style larance system way to complicated for a guy like me. I had the system and the transducers removed and replaced with a garmin system very user friendly. The unit has a very large color display and one throughhaul transducer. It is a fishfinder, depthsounder, records water temperature, and speed, it is also a chartplotter with gps. A powerful spotlight was installed with remote control mounted in the helm area, a new windlass winch was installed & a stainless steel danforth anchor with plenty of new anchor line, the winch is also remote controlled from the helm area. Great to be able to drop and lift your anchor right from the driverseat. All of this work was professionally done. Now we will get to the expensive stuff, my insurance man told me 90% of boat accidents are caused by electrical problems so I had the wiring replaced then since I had went that far I thought why not just completely rebuild everything else. So I told them to go ahead and rebuild both engines and outdrives. The engines are twin mercury 470's which are 4 cylinders that put out 170 hp each 340 hp total. There is a 150 gallon fuel tank under the back deck. I had 2 in-line canister fuel filters installed therefore each engine has the stock fuel filters plus a large automotive type in-line canister fuel filter the size of your average oil filter. Clean fuel means less problems! Installed a new top of the line helm seat and pedestal with foot rest, for the drivers comfort of cou rse. The cuddy cabin has a head small kitchenette will sleep 3, 4 if your real close. A new black canvas helm enclosure was installed, the back and sides can be removed or rolled up, and the whole thing can be easily laid down or removed, I prefer to leave the top on for shade. Enclosure is very nice for cold spring or fall fishing. The boat has stainless steel railing all around. There was also a new ship to shore radio and antenna installed. The radio has weather channels and emergency frequency transmitter, flip one switch and it automatically transmits your location to the coastguard, very nice feature. Speaking of safety there is a new safety kit on board all of the equipment required by the coastguard and then some. Flareguns, flares, flags, also quiet a few lifejackets that go with the boat. I think you can carry 10 people legally on the boat, but 4-6 people is comfortable. There is a large deck area behind the helm plenty of room to walk around, walk around cuddy ca bin, small deck & seating on the bough of the boat. I have had the boat up to 34 knots but it will cruise nicely at 26-28 knots, and not to bad on gas at that speed. The boat also has 4 electric downriggers and weights for all of them, planer board setup that I haven't used, but goes with the boat. I will also throw in some trolling rods basically all you have to do is give her a good once over and fill her with gas and your good to go. Last but not least there is a very nice tandem axle trailer that goes with the boat, it has a new winch and jack installed. Tires like new. I wouldn't be afraid to haul this boat all the way across the USA for a reasonable cost of course!
