Beware possible scam on CSX 4212
CSX 4212 is listed on e-bay as a 427 car. The car was recently sold in Oklahoma with a 428FE engine. See his ad on the cobra country site. May just be an ignorant seller but would suspect fraudulent intent. If anyone knows the new owner of this car, drop him a note to see if he is really trying to sell.

This is interesting auction! It has none of the usual scam earmarks that I can see?
It's a 10 day auction not 1, 2, or 3?
There's no pre-approved bidder nonsense and no separate email address to contact seller?
It is curious that the pictures in both the CC ad and the auction listing were shot at the same location which does not look like anywhere in FL I've ever been.
This surely wouldn't be the first speculation auction to show up on ebay.
The seller's feedback indicates he's sold a car or two on ebay prior to this one.
In any case, If I was looking to buy, I'd simply call the phone number listed in the auction. It would take all of a minute to determine if the auction was legit.
Regards,
Doug

The real owner would be clear that the car had a 428 not a 427. I would hope the new owner would be aware of the engine in his car. I considered purchasing this car last year when it went on the market. The seller seemed like a very honest guy based on our e-mail conversations. Sales price was under 105k also.
May just be a broker without knowledge of his product????

Gregg,
You're on target. This definitely is NOT the original seller. I sent him a message about a possible trade and his response did not compare to the original responses when the car was first listed.
Good call.

Hi Dan:
Brian, the original owner of 4212 did sell the car to a guy who was tall as he remembers. I e-mailed him today to request that he check on the ad to see if it is the original buyer. His sold message on cobra country mentioned he sold it to another Okie.
The e-bay seller, Mark, sent me This reply when I inquired about the engine listed.
"CAR HAS A 427 SO THAT SHOWS HOW MUCH YOU KNOW AND SOLD FOR HIGHER THAN 105-MARK "
I responded with the original corespondence I had with Brian last spring when I first looked into the car. It clearly stated the car had a 428 CJ built by Keith Kraft.
I have a feeling the seller is ignorant of the engine he has in the car. The CC ad listed it for 105k so if he paid more, he is a sap. Could also be that the current seller is the third owner and was "took" by the second. Hmmmmmm!
I liike a good mystery
The saga continues.

Let him sit on it for a few months. After he's relisted it a few times on ebay and reads about the recent developments between Shelby and Superformance, he'll soon realize that a fool and his money are soon parted.

I haven't read the official public release and everything I hear is still hearsay, so I don't want to contribute to the chaos.

Asked this guy for a time to inspect the car before the end of auction, land a line instead of his cell phone as listed, his only response to me was "CAR CAN BE INSPECTED BRING CASH DEPOSIT, CASH TALKS BULL**** WALKS"
I truly think either this guy is really ignorant, or he really is a scammer.
Guess time will tell.

Gregg,
The scoop on the Superformance + Shelby is that you missed my CSX and shouldn't miss the SPF!
