NICE RIDE! If I only knew about it before ordering mine. Congrats on the kid and good luck with the sale.

Congratulations on your kid.....BUT trust me...kids are not that expensive. Just because your wife is pregnant...and that's a good thing.....doesn't mean you have to give up your dream.
Good Luck!!

Question

What Gary said.
I have never understood that knee-jerk reaction. Drive it till the kid goes to college. Just because you are going to be a dad does not mean you need turn into a cardboard cutout of Fred McMurry. Snap out of it and enjoy life. THINK, MAN, THINK!!

Well I've got four kids, and all during their growing years I have had Street Rods and sports cars. They just took turns in the cars.

My wife and I went off to lunch when the kids were at school.

Kristen 'hey, littlecobra' over on the Texas site would possibly chime in here, as she has a few kids and the Cobra is hers to get away at anytime.

Now let me say the older the kids get, the more expensive they become. They are always yours and always need your help.

Good luck with what ever decision you make.

Bernie

I love your LICENSE PLATE!!! NICE CAR!! Sorry to hear that you have to sell it so soon, BUT family ALWAYS comes first - IMO. However, in this case, I'd try other options unless you absolutely have to sell it. Anyway, you can always get another one, as I found out myself. Good luck and congratulations on the forthcoming addition to your family!!

here's the deal. If you need the money because you financed the car, and now you need $$ for baby stuff, then sell away. If the car is 'paid for' as you built/bought it, then keep it, and enjoy the occasional date night with wife. My kids LOVE riding in the cobra. One at a time, of course.... my youngest is 5, and she rides more than any of them!

Now if you need to buy a bigger house, or get out of an apartment with the $$ from the sale, then do what ya gotta do!

Good luck. I have lots of baby names picked out!!!

Kristen

ps. the car is kinda my '5th' kid! It was either another baby or a car. I opted for the car....

I don't know about you guys, but we had "baby stuff" coming out our ears from all the gifts. Hell, half of it ended up in the closet!

Jason,

Good luck selling your car.

The replys reminded me of life with a Cobra and two boys growing up. I put a third seatbelt across the center console. While the boys were small enough, they could ride in the middle. You have to remember to bring a pillow, though. Otherwise, their head bangs against the rear panel everytime I shift!

These days, they just want to know when they can borrow the car!

Jason,
This is my last post here. I'm not trying to beat you up, just giving you something to think about. Good luck either way.
Sorry for hijacking your Ad. ....All the posts have probably got more people to look at your car anyway....

Thanks for all the replies! It's amazing that there are so many people that care about family just as much as their cars. I received the hood scoop today and she'll be back on in a couple of weeks after I get it clear-coated. I also feel the car is worth a bit more than I originally posted so I've increased the price by $1K. Please let me know if anyone is in the market for a BDR. I will be posting on Cobra Country within the next week.

Thanks Again!

Hood scoop is back on and the car is ready to go. I've included a picture of Mr. Shelby's autograph as well as a close-up of the engine compartment. Feel free to email me if you have any additional questions.

That's the way Jason!

Jack that price up way over the what you want for it and make a good show of trying to sell it.
You only need one family car. A two seater is a good commuter car. Just get a bone stock engine to put in it and keep the other one for the weekend.
I would lay my life down for my children, the Cobra and the events can be a family bonding point. Like boating or camping....ect...ect

Try to work it out. I got rid of my 63 1/2 427 Galaxie because I thought it was the reason for getting speeding tickets..WRONG.
I still regrete it. Luckly I didn't get rid of it because of starting a family.

Just something to think about.

Good luck and congratulation (names...Shelby, Ford, Holley, Weber, Wedge...... )

Sweeeet.... I've been watching her everyday on eBay. Sure is a nice ride. Are those kind of seats standard on all BDR's? I sat in one last week at a dealer here in Phoenix and those seats where very uncomforable, although I liked the extra room the BDR offered compared to the SPF. But the SPF seats fit my like a glove. Are the easy to interchange? Thanks

Jason, I've got three kids and I think they would kill me if I got rid of the cobra. I agree with Kristen and if the car is paid for keep it if you can. Look at everything hard but try not to go with the knee jeck reaction beacuse in the end you may wish you didn't. Just because you have kids doesn't mean that life is over with use it to take the spouse out for date night or something. Heck use it to pick the kids up from school when they are older... youd be da bomb dude.

Kristen.. lots of baby names picked out Did that thong story lead to something else? We must know the rest of the story ( sorry for the partial hijack)

J.A.
