It is a hand laid fiberglass body with a Premium PPG Silver & Black base clear coat paint finish with a 100% Powder Coated Black frame. The complete body only weighs 265 lbs, this includes all the hanging components.

The motor is a M-6007-A392 direct from Ford. 5.8L/351/392 CID Small Block, 430 HP Bracket Race GT-40 Aluminum Head Long Block Engine Assembly. (As described direct from Ford on my invoice). It was installed by Reg and Frank Dodd, owners of Custom Cars of Pembroke Pines, Florida where the car under went it's final assembly. Tremec TKO 3550 (5) speed gearbox. McLeod dual friction Hydraulic clutch system with a Blue Printed King Cobra pressure plate, all inside a McLeod Steel Bellhousing. Now even further improved by the SHort Throw Pro 5.0 shifter being moved forward into a better, more user friendly shifting position.

Incredible sounding, deep rumbling, Polished stainless steel side exhaust. It's not loud, yet everyone knows that it's definitely a 430 horse powered COBRA!

Dash is hand signed by the Legendary Dick Smith- World High Speed Record Holder, who set a world record of 198 MPH in a 1965 Cobra on Daytona Speedway. (that's 319 kph), the fastest officially-clocked speed ever for a Cobra. This event occurred in Daytona at the American Road Race of Champions in 1967 (where Dick became the SCCA's A/P National Champion).

This is probably one of the RAREST signatures of a legendary race driver ever obtained! Dick signed the dash of this car in Las Vegas after seeing the car run on the open road course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Even he was impressed! That's WHY he signed it.

NOTE: for clarification. This Backdraft Cobra has NOT run 198 mph.

It has been run twice on two tracks in an open track event, not an actual race. This was just to see how the car handled and performed, which is amazing! An AWESOME machine! VERY few automobiles handle or run like this car. The BMW suspension does make an amazing difference.

The 392 stroker motor in this car is the PERFECT engine for a Cobra. Excellent balance, weight distribution and runs nice and cool. 430 horsepower, matted with the Tremec 5 speed and 3:39 gears it HAULS butt! Yet it gets 16 mpg on the road for long trips. This Cobra drives better and easier than my Cadillac Escalade on the open highway and has a trunk big enough for a set of Golf Clubs. Adjustable drivers seat and extended foot area also accommodates taller drivers. A feature NOT found in most Cobra's.

With it's easy to operate clutch I've driven this car in parades and on a couple of road courses, and driven it to shows. So yes it has a couple rock chips on the front end. It's not perfect but it's beautiful enough to win "Best of Show" TWICE. My wife loves driving it as well, even long distances. It's docile enough to go to the grocery store or use it as a daily driver. A truly beautiful and fun car to own. Ready to go when you are.

A new Backdraft Cobra similarly equipped sells for approximately $50,000 with only one set of tires and wheels and not sorted out like this Cobra. Nor would it be signed by the Legendary Dick Smith.
