2003 completed 1965 Kirkham 427 S/C Replica

-Complete Smith's Guage package including oil pressure, oil temp, fuel pressure, tachometer, speedo, added voltage meter, and Lucas Ammeter

-16 inch Birch wood rimmed steering wheel
-Black Powder coated rear wall
-Twin 12 volt batteries on Kirkham fabricated battery tray
-Emergency cut off switch
-Hidden kill switch

Engine:

-Vintage 427 side-oiler block only bored to .010 over original stock bore... the thundering powerplant that led to the 427 Cobra being labeled "a jet engine on a roller skate" built by Southern Automotive Engines (www.southernautomotiveengines.com)

-Hi-Riser NASCAR style cylinder heads and intake
stroked 391 truck forged steel crankshaft resulting in 499 cubic inch displacement
-KB custom forged pistons; 10 to 1 compression (runs on pump gas);
-ARP bolts throughout
-Camshaft particulars:
-Elgin custom-ground camshaft (242° duration at 0.50" lift on intake; 251° duration at .50 lift on exhaust); 110° lobe separation angle, lash hot is 0.028 intake, 0.030 exhaust
-Dove roller rocker arms
-solid lifters
-pentroof valve covers
-11 quart Aviad oil pan
-period-correct, hi-riser intake
-Holley 1050 CFM vintage NASCAR 3-barrel carburetor (a big oval secondary in lieu of two round secondary barrels), with period-correct, brushed-aluminum "turkey pan"
-Stelling and Hellings air cleaner and cover
-K&N high performance air filter
-MSD electronic distributor; MSD 6AL box that is well-hidden and nowhere to be seen
-Edelbrock aluminum water pump
-period-correct alternator
-period-correct starter
-racing-grade timing gear set and chain
-new stainless steel expansion, and surge tanks
-remote oil filter
-steel-braided oil & fuel lines.
-mechanical fuel pump available, car is setup with electric fuel pump
-It's a legitimate 500+ horsepower engine, that is very driveable

Cooling:

-large-capacity aluminum radiator
-aluminum Edelbrock water pump
-open thermostat with restriction plate
-large-capacity puller fans
-switch for manual fan operation
-correct hoses and hard radiator pipes
-aircraft-grade T-clamps where appropriate
-remote oil cooler as per the original cars

Transmission:

-Southern Automotive built toploader, wide ratio, big input and output shafts
-Hurst competition shifter
-period-correct shifter lever with boot and ring
-4-speed marked shifter knob
-.750 inch clutch slave cylinder
-0.875" clutch master cylinder

Rear end:

-Jaguar original housing differential case
-Dana 3.43:1 gearing
-custom-built and balanced driveshaft w/safety hoop

Suspension:

-Kirkham rack & pinion steering rack
-fully-adjustable IRS
-Penske Racing coil-over shocks
-original-style Shelby suspension
-proper springs for ultimate road and track performance
-6-pin drive with Trigo wheels
-Dunlop Qualifier Performance tires, P245/60-15 front, P275/60-15 rear
-stainless-steel spinners

Brakes:

-Wilwood 12" calipers and discs
-cooling ducts for front brakes
-disc brakes all around

Fuel system:

-42 gallon/160 liter fuel cell with dual pickups, actual useable volume is 38 gallons

Exhaust:

-Justin O'Rourke fabricated primary pipes and sidepipes (main Kirkham exhaust supplier)
-Very open side pipes for menacing sound and top performance
-Hi temp painted for easy touch up and satin finish look

Extras included:

-Kirkham billet steering and wheel center caps (not on car currently)
-wind wings
-dual-tone horns (painted black)
-mechanical fuel pump
