Talking Shelby Kit Car on Ebay

Lo all,

As a prospective cobra buyer, cant tell you how happy I have been to come across the infromation at clubcobra.com. Been browsing and reading the forums over for several days and found them highly informative.

I am hoping I can tap a bit of the knowledge already on display here for an opinion of a kit cobra for sale locally (to me) on ebay here.

seems to have been listed by a listing agent so I havent had much luck contacting the seller yet. Seems like some info you would expect is missing, thought you all might be able to fill in the blanks and give me an overall rating.

One plus for me was that its a Jersey car and already titled here which might be a battle.

Many thanks and howdy.

- Koof

By the looks of the engine compartent and the wacky listing info, I would look elsewhere.

"TRANSMISSION IS A T-150 5 SPEED FORD WITH HURST SHIFTER, 8 X 8 RATION 3-33-1 REAR". "MANUAL POWER DISC BRAKES " WTF?

looks like a CR to me. (doors, seats, tail, windshield, fill cap, plate holder, etc.)

Same seatbelts DV sold.

I think I have seen pictures of this car before, I can't believe there are many with that same steering wheel..... forum member?

why zero miles? even I have some mileage and haven't painted it yet.

Looks like a crackhead wired it. Whats up with the front ride height? 4X4

You can find a better car.

The ad has a number of warning signs, and I'd be careful with this one.

First and foremost, there is no mention of the manufacturer of the replica, and I can't tell what it is.

Second, as you noted it appears to be on "consignment" with someone, the ad is amateurish, and the owner is not around. That may or may not indicate fraud.

Third, it does appear to be a "lower-end" replica, which may or may not be OK, given the quality of the build, and what you're looking for and/or how much you can afford to spend.

Fourth, the parts specs are not real specific and they're mostly lower end components.

It could be a bargain, or it could be your worst nightmare. Have someone with experience in these cars look at it for you.

, I was wondering the same.... i think it may have to do with the lister normally sells collectible glassware .

, I was assuming that the steering wheel must have to do with the water out here in Jersey. Between what people do with their cars and girls do with their hair, there are some oddities to witness.

Thanks guys.

Nice looking car, if the price was right you could afford to change the steering wheel and road wheels and have a good looking ride. Classic Roadster all right, I'd buy it at the right price.

I'd pass on that one, too many items that do not make sense.....Lot's of mis-spelled words, lots of contradications, lots of small little red flags that say "I have no clue what I'm selling"...Let the buyer beware..Lots of nicer Cobras on Ebay.......
