Brand new Factory Five MKIII, frame number F5R1005021RD, purchased September 05. This car was completed February 06 it is insured and registered in Georgia. The 4.6 DOHC motor along with the tremec 3650 transmission for this build were removed from an 04 Mach 1 Mustang with only 1300 miles at the time it was totaled. Pictures of the Mach 1 are available upon request. This is the second Factory Five car that I have completed so buy with the confidence of knowing that this is not my first time and that I was able to learn from building the first car and turn that experience into a much nicer car. All paint and bodywork was completed by NCPainter a well-known painter who has had experience with many Factory Five cars and does outstanding work. I picked the color of this car by pure luck. At my favorite mexican restaurant was parked a Jaguar XK8 which is similar in size to the cobra, it was painted radiance red and I just knew it was the perfect color. The radiance red was mated with silver strips matching the FR-500 rims and I had a winner. The remaining suspension parts needed were sourced from Cypress auto salvage . They were able to find a 96-mustang cobra to part out. This provided me with a rearend with 3.73 gears and 11.65” vented cobra brakes also front spindles with 13” cobra brakes. The electrical system was created by Speed & Assembly . They set the stock engine harness up as a stand-alone system and installed a custom tune to take care of the anti theft system and emissions controls. The remainder of the car was wired using a 12 circuit painless harness. The car was assembled with the greatest care and I always went into shop with the attitude that I was building it for myself. As could only be expected I have put a few miles on this car, 190 so far. This is by far best car I have ever driven. The power output of this car is beyond anything that a normal person would ever need and if you want to attract attention, this is the car to do it. Just try to fill it up with gas and not have to talk to someone about it.
