Stu - Nice corall of cars! I especially like the Z8 - the S62 is a wonderful motor. A question regarding your diveway - is that stamped concrete? I was considering flagstone but I like the look of yours. Thanks.

Default Driveway

Cracker - the drive is stamped. Then colored. (primary coat and and then hand paint the seams) . Finally, I clear coated it with cement sealer. Have to reseal annually to keep it looking good. Has held up very well for 2.5 years, so far.

Default Re Title and Year

For the many who have asked in your PM's, this car retains her clear CA title. It was and is SB100 certified and handled. (It was a 2003 issued SB 100 number and went through the whole "interesting" process.) The CA title shows the car year as "0000" and SPCN. (essentially specially constructed vehicle)
For Texas purposes, they annually safety check it as a "65" vehicle. Thus just the basic safety checks (lights, horn, brakes, wipers and signals. ) No emissions.
I know each state is different, so you need to check yours regarding any replica.

Default Good, Better, Best???

I like them all. I tell folks, they're the same, only different. The Cobra's a classic, beautiful body style, hiding a brute of a car, if you want it to be. Otherwise, it's a fantastic Sunday ride in the country, scaring small children and barnyard animals with the pipes. As stated, I hate to think about selling it, but I'm at a point where there's not enough time in a weekend to enjoy them all properly and I hate to have great machinery sit idle.

The Z8's a much more refined car. Still classically beautiful and unique. More of a touring car, but with 400hp it'll get up and go in an instant. Yet, a much smoother ride, heated seats, A/C, DSC, elec soft top, stereo, removable hard top and much quieter. The sound is muted, so you don't get the thrill of the open piped Cobra, nor the raw power. Plus, the short production run makes them more rare by the day.

The new Ford GT is somewhere in between. Wicked quick, nice sound, handles and rides very well and another timeless body style. It is not the touring machine the Z8 is, but it's also somewhat "softer" than the Cobra. As a hardtop, it also loses the open air sense of the drop-top cars. But it's a real blast to drive and enjoy on the open or twisty roads.

Now, if my wife will just stop talking about a new Z06! So many cars, so little time!!!

Default Sale Pending

Brent, I may have sent you a PM or email, while I was traveling. I answered a lot of interested guys and just can't rememember who I talked with or sent other details to, right now.
Anyway, sale is pending to a great guy from SoCal who seems to know and love the Cobra like many of us. He still needs to see the car and finalize details, so "watch this space" for final outcome.

Default SPF 1580 Available again???

OK folks, my original buyer is indicating tonight some unfortunate problems on his end at the last minute. Great guy, who really knew what he wanted and appreciats fine autos. He is trying to clarify his complicated state resistration issues, but as of tomorrow, 5/5, indicated he may have to back out.
On that growing possibility, if you have new or renewed interest, this car may be available again. Let me know and if he must back out, I'll contact you promptly. Those who sent earlier PM's or emails should have a similar private response already.
Drive safely,
StuM

To all interested in a Superformance, you are not going to find a cleaner Superformance than Stu's. I looked at it a couple months ago. In total I have looked at about 8 Superformances, his is the nicest. There used to be three Superforamances at Corvettes and Classics on the North side of Houston all in the mid to high 50's, I would classify them as junk as compared to Stu's, examples of the junk ones were paint defects, hole in side pipe, worn seats and carpet, no history on engines etc. Pull up the threads I posted in the past and you will realize what a pessamist I am, so when I say his car is clean and nice it must be. The only reason I am holding out is I prefer silver or titanium and even though Stu deal is exceptional it is still alot of money to me to not get the color I want. My plans are to do another backdraft in the fall. I have to say that a Superformance is a better built car than a backdraft, but you have to pay for them. To duplicate Stu car new would have to run low 60's. Beautiful engine all the way down to the safety wired header bolts. I have no connection to Stu, have only talked to him when I looked at the car. Definitly a straight up guy. As Marvin Zindler says "It's hell to be Poor"

Default Thanks Maxx

Thanks Maxx, appreciate your comments. As with all my cars, I do try to keep them as-new. Had/have several deals perking, but have told folks, first come-first served. Meanwhile I enjoy the SPF along with my other "Sunday Cruisers".
More pix on request.
Drive safely.

Default Lucky New Owner?

Well, The (original buyer) lucky new owner seems to be back on top of his game and appears to be ready to assume command of SPF 1580. If so and the deal concludes, she goes back home to SoCal, the land of great sports car driving.
Hopefully we'll get her transported back out west in June and to a nice, new home.

I am shocked at the time to move this pristine car especially at the new lower price and icing on the cake was the SB100 if you lived in CA. If I said it once I will say it again, Cobra country is the place to sell these things.
