That is a nice car and the number seems fair if the motor is in excellent shape. Las Vegas built Shelby American fiberglass cars have been selling in that range. Who built the motor and installed it?

Depends how important that CSX VIN number is to you.

I will tell you that if you are buying this as an investment, think again.

For $92,500 you might also think about a Kirkham with the fancy billet aluminum rear suspension.

Good luck and keep us posted.

CB,

What is the benefit of having an aluminum suspension?

The new Kirkham aluminum suspension is a billet piece that is CNC machined. It is supposed to be a serious improvement over the original style suspension pieces and has much less unsprung weight, which improves handling and response.
Combine that with the suspension work that Tom's Motorsports does in Las Vegas and you could have a very serious track car. For the street it may not be all that noticable.

That's a nice car.... been "on the block" for quite a few months.
A dealer offered it for sale at 107k...no takers.
It was on eBay in February and went unsold...high bid 85K did not meet reserve.

The car was built by HRE on Long Island...top notch job

The engine is a 2x4 tunnel-port.

As Allan said...that's a fair price for a very good car.

...and they seem to hold their value...but, as this one shows, at the fair price...it takes a while to move.

Three,

I have competed against a Kirkham with the latest suspension in my leaf spring buggy and I seriously doubt that it makes any difference. I would chalk it up to being cheaper to produce.

Thumbs up $1,000!

You could probably build the same car new, for about $91,500, and save $1,000. If you have a couple of years to wait!

jdog
P.S. I will take delivery of CSX4795 very soon. It was ordered Nov 03!
You do the math!

If you're serious about wanting a Shelby continuation series, there is a red one with a 427 for sale at Grand Prix Imports in the Portland, Oregon area. I haven't checked the price yet- too rich for my blood- but it is a beautiful car. I believe the number was CSX4226.

Yeah, you're probably right. I forgot about that even though I got down on my hands and knees to look it over really well. I was trying to get some information on my scratch build.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it! I don't think they appreciated me drooling on their car, either! - Bob

BTW- HTH do you keep track of all this stuff????

CSX4226 is a really nice car, the paint job was $12k. I would say the sale price is in the $135-145k. Here is a photo.

The original owner was from back East, I think his last name was Furman.

I think the new owner is Mike Warn, past owner of Warn Industries. My understanding is he is a partner in Grand Prix Imports.

As of a couple weeks ago, the asking price for csx4226 was $130K and it is an aluminum (Kirkham based) body. It looked very nice and has about 2500 miles (if memory serves me right) on it. It seems that the car has been available for quite some time without any takers.

Wrong place to sell, if it was on Cobra Country I bet the car would be sold in a month.

You gotta be kidding..turn me loose in my garage with 92K and look out!!!, first purchase..SOHC and you know the rest, make that continuation series look lame in comparison.

Just happen to know a fella with five cammers.....and don't ask, He already said I would have to come off the in-line set up plus boot....

If interested, a buddy of mine has a perfect red CSX glass car for sale, CSX4242, built by Billy Andrews at HRE.

Red, 427SO, the best of the best with 600 miles on it for $93,000. This car is perfect in every way and is currently listed in Hemmings Motor News.
