I suggest logging in to Ebay directly, then opening up the auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4646112297

Then go to the following url to find out the end users contact information:
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQtZvbQQsofindtypeZ9

Then contact the seller directly at their SC address. If that information does not jive, then I would back out of the auction until such time that they can be contacted within the USA. A trick I have used is to give them a fax number and ask them to fax me over a copy of the title (both sides). If still questionable, I'll find a local Mustang/Shelby/??? Member willing to personally check out the vehicle before sending any funds........Have yet to get burned while doing things this way...Only had one seller tell me that was unacceptable and I walked away from the deal, for without proof of ownership there was no way I was going to send even a $100 deposit...

Exclamation

That is pretty much where things are at now. first the car was being sold for Family emergency, now he is out of the country. I suspect somewhere in NIGERIA maybe?? but then again, there is a slight chance this could be true. maybe he is a secret service agent who went with Bush to Iraq the other day....

I was one of the bidders on this car but jumped ship when I thought the aroma was getting a little heavy. My advice to the buyer: Don't pay another dime beyond the $2,000 Paypal deposit you may have paid already until the seller is back "in country." If the car doesn't materialize with clean papers, you can probably get your deposit back from eBay. Their fraud protection should cover your losses for up to $20,000.

Be very careful about timelines with payapl. If the owner delays you for too long then paypal will not reimburse. My sister learned that lesson.

I know this car and have talked to the owner on a few occasions. The car definitly exists and he lives near me. I would be happy to help in procuring the car if needed. Wealthy kid with a nice assortment of cars. chuck smith

Hello Chuck, Thanks for your offer to assist me. At this point I need verification that he is the legal owner of this Cobra. He stated in his add that it was listed in the Shelby registry. There are some gray area's that I am not satisfied with regarding the the ownership of this Cobra. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If possible can you E-Mail me your phone number so I may talk to you privetly regarding this Cobra. thanks, Chris

It is relatively easy for someone to take pictures of a car, say at a car show and then list it on eBay.

I'm sure if the current owner of the car was not the person who listed it, that the owner would want to know that someone is pretending to sell their car.

I would hope that SAAC would be able to verify the last known owner's name.
