Anyone notice that this auction has ended early because the car is no longer for sale? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!! My daddy always told me that whenever something looked too good to be true, it was usually because is wasn't true.

I think you'll find that the auction ended early because our new friend above hit the "BUY IT NOW" button.

The way I see it the car was priced extremely low right? Why negotiate pay what you are willing to pay. I do not think this an indicator of anything. The internet car store represented the car on behalf of a private party. The store does not care or know replica values and the private party set the price. This was an opportunity not a trend these things do happen from time to time. The car was available for about 16 hours no magic here. I look forward to chatting with you guys. I am new to the Cobra ownership world I am a member of SAAC, 428 Registry, Boss 302 registry, Marauder registry, and have made some great friends over the years. Can't wait till it gets here!

I agree Sporty, not indicative of a 'trend'. Along that train of thought I have seen the prices on e-bay for replica Cobras ALWAYS on the low side. It's like a 'wholesale' outlet for a quick sell if you need the money NOW and the price is a 'bargain'. While I would consider listing my car there, the circumstances would have to be I need the money now and am willing to 'whole sale' the car, simple as that.

By the way, since I stopped my listing on Cobra Country I haven't got a single "Nigerian e-mail". I feel bad for Curt Scott (web site owner) as I would guess there is little he can about this nagging problem for listers. Not only Nigeria, many responders were apparently right here in the USA, it was difficult at times separating the 'trash' from a serious inquiry. TIP: "I'm REPRESENTING a buyer" was 100% of the time a bogus contact.

Excalibur, Ebay is a great place to get exposure. If you post your phone# you can make a deal outside of Ebay. If you look at Shelbys they rarely meet reserve any more. Have you thought of carsonline.com?

big-boss 09-06-2006 08:44 AM

Sportworty, Give us the news did the deal go down as planned?

sportyworty 09-06-2006 06:07 PM

All seems to be progressing as planned yes. Of course the car is in Nebraska and the new home is in California so it is not in my garage as yet. I will keep you posted. I have used DAS in the past for shipping but the seller quoted a comparable rate and I decided to contract them. My thinking was fewer hands involved the better.. from there store loaded to my door with insurance.

The best trip of my life was when my wife and I flew into New Orelens picked up our 1986 Autokraft in Biloxi and drove it back- cold turkey. I stopped at a quickie lub place had it serviced and home to Exeter, Ca. we went. What a trip- stayed in all the flee bag motels-so I could park the car right outside. Rained like hell one day-had a top. Keep us posted.

A work of art to say the least. 004 should be here by the weekend!! Now I have to figure out the registration thing.

sportyworty 09-17-2006 09:26 AM

Just got the call driver will be here around 10:30 AM will post when I see it. YAHOO!!!

sportyworty 09-17-2006 06:39 PM

Well this makes 3 posts in a row by myself so I guess I am the most interested in the thread LOL The car is great and reflects the 1450 miles. Besides the dead battery, fuel level so low it would not pick it up, and looks like it has not been detailed since it was built in 1997. All it needs is a little love and she should be as new definately better than expected. It has been 13 years since I drove a Cobra with an FE and it is a blast compared to any of my past Mustangs including S/C hipo's and CJ's torque torque torque.

FUNFER2 09-17-2006 06:55 PM

Little TLC goes a long way. Enjoy your new baby. :3DSMILE: The FE's are fun !

Is it really the Kirkham brocher car? I know there was lots of speculation in that direction. Got to dump the tires. Great car! Great deal!

sportyworty 09-18-2006 07:41 AM

Yes, according to David Kirkham it is the catalog car # 4. I will get some billboard Goodyears on it when I go through the car in the next few weeks. Thanks I am very pleased with the car.
