Johnex owner
There are some points to Mr Fixit, when I purchased my 1992 built Johnex a few years ago there were some issues, first I was getting fumes coming in from the engine compartment.
I tore out the fiberglass interior floors ,foot boxes and tunnel and yea it was put together pretty ****ty, I replaced everything with aluminum including behind the seatsand sealed it all up no more fumes.
the side pipes on my car are all welded and the exhaust was like that when built and I have not seen a Johnex with slip on ends.
The headers are a joke and yes they are welded together and the slide into the side pipes, pretty cheesie if you ask me and I will be replacing them next winter.
Now does it compare to a superperformance? I have only seen a couple of these and yes they are very well built cars and unlike factory five actually look like an ac cobra.
We call factory five's abortions because the bodies have been modified so much from original to accomodate mustang drivelines and suspensions that they look like crap compared to Johnex and Superformance bodies.
I always look forward to hunting out FFR cars at car shows and parking beside them and then educating the owner on what a real cobra body looks like.
To end this posting I would like to say that my car is not perfect but Im working on it.
So stop your winning and look at each car individually you will find good points and bad points to all of them,I have many friends who own ffr and have a lot of hard work and pride in them and its their baby and I think the people who gripe the most are wannabe cobra owners and have nothing better to do.
