Gentlemen this is not a court of law, this is a forum to state opinion and experiences that we have had and share them with others.
I don't care to write a long and rather uninteresting story of the back and forth with John. If the problems were solved they are not mentioned. That would exclude none by the way.
Over 10 years of dealing with I John's cars I have not documented them, taken pictures etc. etc. etc. etc. I cannot and would not go to that much trouble. At the end of the day this all effects me ZERO. However there are some good people who are thinking about dropping some cash on a Cobra and they need to understand a few things.
They need to understand their skill level and the work to build certain cars. They should have an understanding of the quality of the kits that are out there and they need to look at the $$$ they wont to spend and then start trying to balance it all.
It's tough!!
Here is my view on Kits
If you have the cash by a 4000 series Shelby Cobra kit, next is the Kirkem car (sorry if I spelled it wrong), then ERA, what was Contemporary, then Midstates.
There it is for what it is worth.
Note on the Factory five's they are a exceptionally well engineered car. They are in my opinion one of the best kit packages out there. With that said I would like to say if you wont something with a true to the original body shape run in the other direction. Yes they look like a Cobra but they have taken license to change to change the body shape to meet there design goals.
Again this is not my taste in cars, as close and true to the original is.
PS you Factory Five guys out there please don't kill me!
