York Sports Cars
I'm not pleased to post this-but it's information which may become useful to somebody. I've contracted with John York to supply my engine/trans and steering column as well as my pedal/master cylinders.
John gave me a 90 day turn-around for the engine and trans.
It took five months.
I just recieived my steering column last week.
It took almost five months.
The pedals have not yet arrived.
Next week it will be five months. He indicated he would send the pedals last Friday-it's now been over a week and....no pedals.
I'm angry, I'm disappointed. I've got $30,000 of car parts I can't insure since it's not yet a "car".
I can't speak to the quality of the product, since I can't use it yet. I can only speak to the timeliness. Not acceptable to me. If you order from John: I recommend a Liquidated Damages clause, and final payment upon receipt.
I just don't understand it.

I have dealt extensively with John. He has done a lot of work for me. He is a good man, he knows his stuff and he is a man of integrety. I'm not telling you he walks on water, . . . but he is a cut above the rest. I will call him and give him a heads-up that you are pissed.

jt, John is a good man and he will come through for you. I know it's frustrating when waiting for parts and we've all been through it. Unfortunately it's part of the business we are in. I know in my case I can't stock the number of parts I would like to because of cash flow. This leaves you to the mercy of other suppliers which I can't control. I always tell my customers if things are running late so we don't get to the point of tempers rising. Maybe John should have communicated a little better and told you of the delays. He is a good business man and has been around a long time.
dcapo, What parts are you missing? I may be able to help.
You can call me if you like, 1-888-722-6272

dcapo, I know Pete will work hard on getting your parts, he's a good man. I have quite a few parts from the Cobra kits on my shelf and if the factory is short I can sometimes help them with filling an order if someone needs something in a hurry. I'm not trying to sell you anything, if I have something here that will help you progress then you are welcome to it. If I have the part I can ship it to you, when the factory gets them in they can return the part to me. Just trying to help a Cobra fan.

Jt: My motor and some parts were on time, but the pedals and master cylinder, thats another story. The pedals were late because he was building an A & C car and when that pedal assembly was done he was going to use it as a model, build another one and then send it to me. The pedals really delayed my car last year about this time frame. The master cylinder John sent me was way to long. Had to send it back and he sent me another one. Make sure you ask him if it is the right one. He should know because I found the problem before he tried to put the same one into the car he was building.
John is very knowledgeable and helpful. I know I could have not built my car without his expert advice. The engine tranny, well, I can't be happier, very strong and sounds like a big block, very throaty.
I know its hard to be patient, especially when you want to finish it and drive it.
Good luck.
Jim from Ohio.

..and they lived happily ever after
I'm pleased to say I received my pedals and WOW-they exceeded my expectaions by a mile! I got them on a Saturday about noon and had them in before dinnertime. John called me on Sunday morning to see how things were going. (You just don't see that type of businessman much anymore). These are a beautiful unit. I now understand he spent a bit of time improving the set-with excellent results, I might add.
The moral of the story-get all the facts before jumping to conclusions.
I wish to publicly apologize to John York for any harm done from this post.
It's my patience which ran out (again). Thanks again for all the technical support-there's no price worthy of that.
