Question Pierce Manifolds Inc.

Dear cobra drivers,

I am planning to purchase a Weber kit from Pierce Manifolds Inc. The kit comes with the 48 IDF carbs which would be appropriate for my engine (347 stroker) and costs US$ 2'700. The kit includes the manifold as well as the stacks. Fuel line and air filters wouldn't be included.

I'm located in Switzerland, Europe, I would like to ask you whether you can provide me with any information on Pierce Manifolds Inc. (quality of service and parts, etc.).

In addition to that I would be more than happy to get from the Cobra experts some information on the correct setting of such 48 IDF carbs.

Many thanks for your help,

Walter,

I had my 48's rebuilt by Roger at Pierce. I didn't have any problems with my system and they were delivered back to me when they promised.

I would suggest that you get a really good idea of what you need to run for all the jets and chokes before you order....changing stuff out gets expensive.

I've bought parts numerous times over the years with no problems. The correct carbs are IDA not the IDF's...but IDA's are getting hard to find..

You might check with Enzo at Finishl Line...last time I talked to him he had two sets.

I just sent (traded) my set which was set up for a 347 to Walt Hane at EPS in Colorado. He might be willing to part with them...do a search for Walt Hane on the internet...his company will pop up. He does Vintage Shelby Race cars and restoration.

Walter,

I to have purchased from Roger at Pierce. He is a class act and solved problems with my webers that I had been fighting for years. I did not prchase my webers from them because I did not know who they were at the time but I would if I had it to do over again today. Talk to Roger he is the man at Pierce.

Enzo is the man for webers period. But you ask about Pierce. Between the two you should be able to get anything you would ever need for your car. Both are honest and very knowledgeable.
