Armandos Racing Oil Pans NG
I ordered by oil pan by letter after e-mails back and forth to determine type of pan and shipping costs. Sent a check for the full price and was told I would have pan in two to three weeks. He cashed my check in November. I still have not received my oil pan. I called him three weeks ago and his office clerk said pan was at the platers. I called again last week and talked to the same person, I heard her ask where my pan was and she said it was at the platers and she would send it the next day.
The only reason I ordered my pan from Armandos is because of all the positives that were placed in this forum.
I don't care if the oil pan comes this week. Armandos has a lot to learn about customer satisfaction.

Please don't tell me about your great oil pans from Armandos, I already read that and am now out a measly $425.

I was considering ordering a pan, but I believe I'll wait and see how this plays out. If they would just make a simple phonecall with an honest explanation, they could avoid this sort of thing. Its easy, but many companies don't seem to care!

This, and technical issues, is why...
I stuck with the stock Ford pan for my 514. Just too many negative possibilities, although I really would have liked to have a turn key type RR pan.
The entire industry (replicas, aftermarket suppliers) seems to be littered with bad customer service. At least the good businesses DO stand out.

Crankster, My WannaBe Racer Brother...
I'd suggest you write a letter to them outlining what's happened so far, with copies to the Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau, for starters. Give them a do or die date; if they don't get it to you by then, the letter should warn them that you will expect an immediate refund, and if it isn't forthcoming immediately, that you will seek any and all legal remedies that are available to you. If that doesn't do it, send me an email and we'll work on another letter with copies to the Consumer units at the DA's office and the State A.G.'s office, etc.
As a rule of thumb, I try to use a credit card for my first purchase from someone I haven't used before, for exactly this sort of risk. The great thing about using a card is that you can get the issuer to reverse out the charge until the matter is resolved.
As a last resort, we can start emailing them pictures of Jamo's delicate hind end in masse...nobody can withstand that sort of punishment.
Best,
Tom T.

Thanks for the ideas Guys,
From this end one of our best ivestigators has dug up some very interesting info on Mr. Armando that I am sure the SSA and or the INS would be interested in.
Screw me out of a lousy $425 and I'll do my best to get you sent back to Mexico.

Racer X
Why don't you call on Monday and speak to Mr. Armando in person not his
office clerk, then if you don't get satisfaction do what you you feel is right.
For what it's worth I do have one of his road race pans and it was a week and
a half late from time promised. Armando's was the only 7 qt. rr pan I found
that was only 6 inchs deep (ground clearance you know). I know you don't
want to hear it but the quality is top notch.

Delays
When I placed my order I was told they weren't set up to accept credit cards. I asked mine to be sent UPS COD and wrote a personal check. Had to make a couple of follow up calls to keep the fire lit and keep them motivated. Delivery was about 3 weeks to 30 days from time of order.
PS: Ditto on Mike's comments regarding call directed to Armando personally. Everyone should be accountable for their actions.

I placed an order with Armando, and one a week later an order with Aviad both told me it would be two weeks the Aviad pan was Aviad$30.00 moor but I got it a week sooner than Armando's pan. I had to modify Armando's pan to get it to fit the pickup was 1 3/4" from the bottom of the pan. and the welding was crude compared to the Aviad pan, It did work fine once installed. Had to pay for it whit Pay Pal. The Aviad Pan was a nicer pan and on time and I did not have to modify it and I just wrote a check to the FedEx guy. Bill E EMS

Oil Pan update
OK, Time to call off the militia, the PI, and I fired the Lawyer.
The Oil Pan finally arrived today two months to the day after he cashed my check.
Still not happy with the delivery time.
In all honesty the pan does look pretty good but anybody who has seen my car knows I ain't very fussy.
Now who's the next guy to hold me up.

Sorry to hear all of the grief.
Visited Armando to purchase my sideoiler pan and was nothing but satisfied.
His shop is in the middle of downtown LA, and rather small...a family operation to be sure.
Hope all works out for y'all.

Roscoe,
Does it fit? That's what we got sledhammers for.
Just went to the garage and put the new oil pan next to my old Canton RR pan. The new one from Armando is much nicer the welds are more even and not counting the big hole in the side of the Canton it is just not as good looking as the new one.

Glad to hear it made it Roger. I will send you a printed copy of my butt for your use--much more effective than the letterhead.
Maybe I'll start a new practice.

Hope Armondo isn't CorvetteMan (or snakeEater). Might get special delivery.
