Default David Kee Transmissions

Bought a Toploader from David, Just wanted mention that David was very professional and the work was first rate. Very easy to go Online and order additional small parts needed in the build.

Thanks David

I got a TL with a Mustang tailhousing (I believe 14"), wide ratio gears, 1 3/8 input, 31 spline output, reverse speedometer gear (so I did not need the adapter). Told him I needed it for a Kirkham 427. Came UPS bolted into a stout returnable shipping container.

P.S. David will also need to know if you are going to use a hydraulic throw out bearing or a clutch fork. I am running a clutch fork and slave cylinder.

Gary -

What rear gear are you going to use? I am using a 3.07 and am out of luck in being able to get the right drive/driven combination when I use the reverse driven gear.

Pat I have the 3.31's that came with the car. I have given up the idea of getting everything to my liking the first time around. The goal is to get it Registered and then tinker and fine tune as I learn. It's going to howl on the highway but what the ____.

I was told 3.31 would be ok with the reverse speedo gear - hope so.

Cool

Gary,

I am building a Kirkham right now with a 3.31 rear gear. I am getting a DK Toploader with the reversed "drive" gear. Did you use a standard Ford gear? If so, what color or tooth count gear did you use? Will a standard rotation gear mesh with the reversed drive gear?

Enough questions for ya?
