I have one. Quality of kit is very good. You'll also be putting a certain amount of your own "quality" into it. That would go for any kit. I compared B&B and FFR as well. Both are also good kits. I chose SV partly for the outstanding people and service. I don't think any kit is an easy build. There are lots of unknowns, decisions to make along the way, frustrations, etc. I got references from the factories and visited them. If you can, visit the factory itself.

Shell Valley
Keven,
I have a Shell Valley kit I bought it over a year ago and should have it done but I have had to much else going on. The Cobra is almost as the way Rich from Shell Valley delivered it. It is a good kit some flaws but over all a good kit. The people at Shell Valley are great to work with. I do not think it will be hard to put together once I can find the time to work on it. You can contact me via e-mail at tpumpelly@woh.rr.com if you have more questions. I live in Dayton Ohio, you are more than welcome to come see the car if you want.

Come to the Spring Fling next month and see the cars for yourself, talk to owners, etc. Shell Valley may even be there, even if not displaying...as well as other manufacturers.
Check it out at dvsf.com
I too visited them before deciding. I chose Midstates, but there is definately nothing wrong with SV either...

I have a Shell Valley....Very satisfied with it...and as the others have said, the people and service are top-notch...I'm about 1.5 hours from Lexington....you're welcome to stop by and see mine too. I have it rolling and somewhat driveable now....

kc,
Shell Valley and Midstates are both under the same owner, Rich Anderson. I spent the day with him at the Knotts show two years ago. He and his staff are honest and trustworthy. They will do exactly what they say. I have a Midstates, simply because of the relationship I developed with Bob Kallio, or I would have a Shell Valley. Great bunch of people!

Met Bob Kallio at Run N Gun and took a good look over his car there. Body was still in grey gel coat and the quality was good.
I spent some time looking at the Shell Valley cars and was most impressed with the "A" Ford they had there. Rich's personal drive a Cobra was well constructed and overall looked good.
He had cut the guards away a far bit which looked a little strange. I think there are some photos in recent editions of KIT CAR Mag.
Rich really had that car moving around the track and around the hats in the motor khana event. So they drive what they sell.
I don't envy you with having to make a choice. I certainly saw some good looking Cobras there.
I guess as suggested go to the big events and talk with owners.
Good luck with your choice.
Cheers
Bernie

Hi Kevin, I had a Shell Valley with a 460 and C6, that I have just sold two weeks ago to a friend. Last Saturday I went back down to Shell Valley and ordered another. I'am very happy with the cobra and the customer service, this company goes out of their way to help get a great kit. Melrich
