smash, I'm sure there's quite a few small towns I've never heard of in MN. Give me some more info and I can look the guy up.

56031 brakes to Fairmont Mn when I punch it into the Weather channel web site. Good luck.

Yeah - that's a thread I started over there.

Bottom line is I'm now taking legal action to recover my money - I have so many horror stories from this guys customers it's untrue. He's just full of BS.

The message is cheapest is definitely not always best!!!

Smash,
Get them to chime in here.
It could be worse. I had to rebuild a cobra that was DESTROYED by a so called "AWARD WINNING BUILDER" It ended up costing my friend ANOTHER $30,000 to make the car right. (He waited 4years for the S.O.B. to deliver his car).
Collecting any money is going to be near impossible from what I have seen.
It might do your mental health some good to just walk away.
Either way, I wish you all the luck of the Irish.
Steve

He's ditched his ebay ID - well even hiding the negative feedback wasn't helping - and he's done a runner with my $2500 plus countless thousands from other people.

I've now gotta fix up my 'injured' 302 on a budget - check out the piston (and it was still running quite well despite a bit of a knocking noise!! *ahem* )

I took the rings off before you ask! (yes, one was broken though)

Smash - sorry to see that... Looks like the broken ring was the compression (top) ring. The skirts being blown right off that slug tell me that unless you had some sort of power adder (N2o), Supercharger or experienced severe detonation which would normally just blow the headgaskets, the cylinders had been bored/honed well beyond the max tolerance of the pistons. Forged pistons can be clearnaced a little on the loose side.
Cast pistons (hypereutectic or not) must maintain a very close tolerance or this may happen..

Default another victim!

I am yet another victim of this seller (see the 'other' strokermotors thread). In addition to selling me a "newly rebuilt" engine with two cracks in the engine block, one by each freeze plug (obviously he did not have the block magnafluxed like he claimed), the intake manifold was put on with the gaskets installed BACKWARDS! This obviously restricted the antifreeze flow. The shop that is re-rebuilding this engine said it was amazing that it even ran (I drove it for about 800 miles). I'm attaching a pic of the engine, you can see the gasket installed backwards. When I send him this photo, he didn't respond (of course)...If anyone wants to hear more, send me an email, I won't bother posting the whole sad story here......

Heard from my debt recovery company today - apparently they tracked down my engine - it did exist but was resold to somebody else in October! That buyer reported that it was not how it was described, most notably Windsor Jnr heads rather than the Roush promised (still made 441hp on a dyno though - gutted!). Anyway Bittner is resisting legal threats and clearly has set out to defraud many people - it's a criminal matter now and I've got to get in touch with Martin County Sheriffs (not much point though - not gonna see any of my money back).

My poor old cob is sat up on axle stands in the freezing garage awaiting repair of it's existing lump - but I can't stir up any enthusiasm for it at the mo.

OK, I decided I'm gonna get the final word in my dealings with this guy sooooooo...........I've registered www.rodgerbittner.com ho-ho.

I hope this site will let people who 'google' him know truthfully how this guy operates and think VERY carefully about dealing with him.

If anyone wants to send me their stories/testimonials and what the experience has cost them, I'm collating them now to add to the site shortly (identity withheld at your request) emails to victim@rodgerbittner.com (nice email, huh?)

Power to the people

Default Mr. Bittner

I have spoken with Mr. Bittner, Mrs.Bittner, and Mr.Craig. Needless to say I am a victim of Mr. Bittner. If you will let a chevy man speak here on your cobra site . I have alerted Deputy Vath to the presence of Mr. Craig on eBay and he is under investigation as we speak er type. I have also alerted everyone who bids on Mr. Craigs engines to the similarities between him and Mr. Bittner and refered them to your website www.rodgerbittner.com. I noticed that Mr. Craig removed all his engines (but one) from his eBay auction (the same day that I spoke to him on the phone I might add). Hopefully we can keep others from being taken to the cleaners. I would sure like to have that $2015.00 back in my pocket again but barring that from happening I will be damned if I am just going to sit by and let others be taken and see this guys bank account grow bigger. I will be making that trip up to MN sometime this year I am sure! and you bet your ass I cannot wait . He took money away from not only me but my family and my biggest baby my lil '69 camaro. I cannot wait to see him pay

Thanks for letting me rant and thank you for your website
