Zderf,
Yeah, those were some of my thought's, too. I called the company to ask a few questions. The guy says "it takes some getting used to.." Geeze! The worst thing, it won't store flat. It's either tilted or upright. Pass.
DV,
I'm with you on that! I did a search on Alltheweb for automotive lifts....holy cow! The idea of TOO MANY choices comes to mind! I'm leaning towards a compact 4-pole. There seems to be some really nice products in the $2500-$3000 range. So far, I'm impressed with Back Yard Buddy. I've talked to one of their rep's several times. They are super nice, and seem eager to help. They are also made here in Ohio, have a great warranty, and a size that would fit in my garage. Check out their website, let me know what you think! I also have an information packet they sent me. I'd be happy to bring it over, and talk about it with you. Perhaps buying 3 of them, and picking them up, we could make a pretty good deal. See what you think!

Anybody have one of these?

Autolifters
I purchased a 4 post lift this past Aug. after doing all of the same research. I purchased the Autolifters M6 4 poster. I couldn't be happier. Everything about it is as advertised and better. It came in red and blue and they even sent along two cans of spray paint in the right colors for touch ups, etc. I also considered Backyard Buddy. Looks like great lift also, but Autolifters had drip trays included, $250 worth of shipping, and free casters (they are willing to deal for another accessory of equal value) and was less money. The lift has very good fit and finish and is extremely safe!
Strongly recommend. Please call me if you have any questions that I can answer.

Corey,
Good to hear you like that lift. It is one I am looking at also. It measures up almost exactly like the Back Yard Buddy. I'm leaning towards the BYB because it's made here in Ohio(about 2 hours from where I live).
Have you put the casters on it and tried to move it yet? Just wondering how easy that is.

Castors
I am unable to use castors as I don't have room in the garage to move it very far and it won't fit back out through the doors, so I negotiated for the oil change rollaround container as I can use that and it was the same price.

dalola,
I too have looked at the backyard buddy numerous times. I met the owner years ago at Carlisle. At that time they did not build a 2-post type system.
I think we will end up with them. They are at least as good, if not better than all the ones we have investigated. We are thinking of going with one 4-post and one 2-post.
Our reasons are simple. Since we do so much work building "kits" we really need 360's to work on the frames. But, when it comes to a completed car then the 4-post is the way to go. Unless you are someone that does a lot of brake work/wheel work.
Bring your information with you on the 20th! We'll discuss it. Maybe instead of just us, we might get a whole group to purchase. I know the owner made me a very good offer years ago if I bought two, I would only think he would be willing to "deal" on numerous orders!
If you get a few moments.. think about that ABS system.
See you on the 20th

I ended up with a Gemini for ARESCO in Walled Lake Michigan. Looked at all the others. Went with them since they are local, install and warrantee the installation. I believe they will install up to 150 miles away (which London is nearly in that range).
$3000 installed.

I just checked on Jgrices recommendation-price seems OK especially if they deliver at that price.
What's your opionion? Asymetrical or symetrical? Why?
