Default merchandise return & refund how to?

i purchased a tranny from a guy with wrong advertised od, he has my money, i have the transmission. i talked him into a refund & return. payment was made through paypal with visa card, so on my dime i have to send the tranny back, but he doesn't trust me and i sure don't want to send the tranny back without some type of collateral. oh, and he says the money is still in paypal.

is there a way to make this refund exchange to keep everybody honest?

I've never tried one, but you could look into an online escrow service.

It's good to come back and say you've solved it.

It's better sometimes to share the solution, in case others down the line have a similar problem.

--communication--you gotta talk. i explained the situation, what would he do in my shoes, came to a conclusion that benefited both parties without undue damage, ended up costing me a little more, cost him a little more, both ended up with the solution of the original intent.

would like to thank joe at standard transmission for helping us out with an exchange and all the other nonexistent sponsors that stepped up to the plate, the car was great today and all the guys worked real hard to get this back on track
