Default Beware of West Coast Cobra

Please be aware when doing business with West Coast Cobra! This has been my experience and I want anyone considering purchasing a kit car from Vern to know how he does business. I paid him to do the body work so that when I was finished with the build all I had to do was get it painted. Turns out that the fiberglass was poured in a dirty mold leaving hundreds, yes hundreds! of shiny pits that were covered with mud. This was discovered after only a few blockings. The mud could be removed by compressed air alone! We had to strip the entire car down bare fiberglass and start over! Vern initially offered to give me my money back but I haven't seen a cent! As a matter of fact, the last time we spoke, he told me I couldn't touch him because he was in Canada eventhough he uses a Michigan address. So please be very careful when dealing with him....he does not stand behind his work!

Since we are talking about a company here is my opinion. I have wcc and have found Vern to be fair. He is very busy and is a bit slow to get parts to you sometimes (mostly due to his suppliers) slow to get back to you through e-mail or phone but as i said he is extremely busy. I believe he delivers all his cars personally which takes alot of time. He delivered mine quickly and at a more than fair price. I recently had a part malfunction and he sent me a new one right away. I must admit that Vern is a little eccentric and you don't want to p#$$ him off or you won't get good response or service (much like anyone) you must be very patient or don't deal with him.

Now there's a ringing endorsement!
I guess in this case getting a POS body is enough 'piss Vern off'....

Maybe because you are in Canada and CAN do something about it?

The Cobra history is littered with shady characters, failed businesses, and people who don't know how to run a business or deal with customer service. Sounds like just another one to add to the heap.
