Default Finally a product that works for Stone Guards

For those who are looking for a good product that works well to protect your car from stone damage here it is...http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...rrivals&page=1

I put this on over two years ago and took it off today because I wanted to redo it. It was somewhat splotchy and uneven, I felt I could do it better. It came completely off in about 5 minutes and not 1 chip after about 3000 miles. I can't say enough about this product, it works as stated and still came off the car with ease after two years.

I have to admit, it takes a little practice to get it just right and what I mean by that is it states to hold the can 6"-10" away from surface, WRONG you need to be at least 2'-3' away for a more even color (too close and some parts will be shiny some will be flat) and spray in one direction only. It comes out as a combination spray and splatter so it takes a little getting used to. It states to do two coats, WRONG if you wait to let it dry and do another coat, when you peel the masking tape off you will not get a crisp line. Keep even strokes and overlap and wait no more than 10 seconds before going over it again then immediately take the tape off and you will get a nice crisp line. If you wait even 5 mins you will not get a crisp line, it has to be wet. Best part is if you mess up just let it dry (15 min) peel it off and try again. The stuff is cheap enough. I also bought the roll of pre masked tape they sell, again well worth it. I did both rear wheel fenders 4 times from 1 can and could probably do it again with whats left now that I know how to do it.
It dries to a nice flat black slightly bumpy finish. It took me longer to mask off the car than it did to spray it on, rip off the masking and have a nice finished product. One other thing, went to get the can after two years of sitting and realized I had not cleaned the spray head to keep it from clogging. Just peeled off what residue was left (its rubber) and it worked just fine. Best product I ever bought for the money....

I've been very impressed with all of Griot's products. Some are a little on the spendy side but the quality can't be beat. Their Best of Show wax is awesome. Far superior to anything I've used (and I've used them all). It also helps that they are only a few miles from me so I don't have to order anything, I just stop by when I'm in the area.
