Doug,
Sorry, but I've lost sequence on your motor? "Your" post is going way out side of our Cobra "Family", Bobbie (Robert) Werner, a "Master Tech." from Ford wants to know if you need any assembly help on your motor? He is volunteering his time, tools, knowledge at extreme discounted rates to assemble your motor. But...since he is of the Younger generation FE's are not his specialty. He asked me if the "Board" would clue him in on any tricks, must do's, don't do's, etc.as needed to get you a bullet proof motor.
Basically answer any questions he may pop up with, or even just tips to make an FE a better motor. He knows over the years the FE's have had a few questions/improvements on the drivetrain.
I told him, Son, if anyone can help build a strong FE motor this Board will have the resources for all your questions!
I told him he could use my Garage of course, but the ultimate answer has to come from you. ???
DV
Soon as I get the room, I'll lay out the "Toys" -Neat stuff- that have come in for your Cobra and List the senders!

Dave,
Thanks so much for the heads. Brent feels that the cost of building up a set of Ford heads is more than likely going to approach the cost of a set of Edelbrocks. I have to start poking around looking for a set of used Edelbrocks that'll fit into the budget. If I can't find that or perhaps even a really good price on a set of new ones. then I guess we may have to revisit the Ford heads again. I really do appreciate the offer and your keeping them available as Brent helps me to sort through the various options. The heads are the biggest stumbling block remaining to getting this done, and I am extremely appreciative of your kindness in offering your heads. Thanks so much!

767, if when it is finished and you need to set the chassis up with alignment and scaling i could provide that service. if the car is shipped from mi to i believe tx i am just south of kansas city and might be on the way. i have a hunter alignment machine and the scales and lift to do the setup. someone familiar with your setup would be helpful.
good luck.

Wow, that's great! Thanks so much. I'd love to be able to drive the car to Houston when it's done. I know it's not too smart, but boy would that ever be fun if the weather cooperated. I don't know how K.C. lays in relation to the route, but I appreciate the offer so much. All you guys are just tremendous.

...we threw in a remote oil cooler upper bracket and lower adapter. The fittings in the upper are -12, same as we use. The lower has provisions for 1/2 NPT...

...we found some -8 carburetor feeds (specially made to work with the turkey pan), a harmonic balancer pulley, throttle return spring and bracket, distributor hold down, and a timing pointer...

Wow, David. As with everything Kirkham, that's all beautiful stuff, and so deeply and gratefully appreciated. Thank you so very much. I may not be able to yet have a Kirkham, but my humble Contemporary will certainly have it's share of Kirkham blood in it's veins. Thank you so much, David, and please express my gratitude to the entire Kirkham extended family. You guys are a true class act, and I truly apprciate your kindness and generosity. Thank you!

My goodness, Rod. I was just running through all the posts again and realized that I never thanked you. Please forgive my oversight, I can assure you it was not intentional. I truly appreciate your generosity and kindness. I hope to one day be burning gas in this little bugger, for a week or so I had given up hope of that ever happening. You guys rekindled that dream and once again it's up and running, as am I. Thanks to you, Rod, and so many others, this looks like it'll one day be a proper car. Many, many thanks. Again,, Rod, please accept my apology for my inadvertant oversight.
