Front Coil over shocks
A customer has a Jaguar E-type with Ford 302 crate motor & Tremec 5 speed.
It has been converted to coil over front Bilstein shocks, the springs it came with were too short, got longer springs rated at 324 PSI. To get the ride height correct, the coils are bound rather tightly, & the car rides extremely stiff.
What would a late model Contemporary Cobra that used coil overs have for a front spring & a shock? Thanks in advance.

That sounds high on the spring rate to me. Find an online coil spring calculator and plug your numbers in. Pro Shock Coil Spring Rate Calculator

I'm looking for the spring that would go on the front of a late model Contemporary Cobra that used Bilstein coil over shocks. So the calculator, though helpful, at this point tells me only what I have & already know. Thanks.

All the literature that I have from when I looked in to buying a Contemporary Classic in the early 1980s show Koni shocks up front and no coil over springs. I have a price sheet from March, 1987 and no Bilsteins are listed, just the "custom Koni" shocks for the front - again, no springs.

You need to know how heavy it is on the front end, how long your shocks are at ride height, how much travel you have and what angle they are mounted at.

Front coil overs
Thanks, mickmate! also helpful was the kiwi at Acton in NH. He did check a late model Contemporary that uses coil overs, but obviously has no part #.
The Pro shock info will aid in what rate to use. Thanks again. jagetypev8.

Mine that I have just fitted are AVO adjustable platform coil overs, the springs are 300 lbs/in and I think were 10" long uncompressed.
Fitted length fully open is 13" eye to eye.
Mine has no weight on it yet but will be supporting a big block.
