I noted that there was a beautiful Cobra and she said, "Do you like it" and threw me the keys. I couldn't believe it. Anyways, here are a few pics and of course the specs to go with it.

Nice back and fill bud lol.
She did go out and buy me a Cobra without me knowing. We were talking about getting one, but it was a "let's get one in a few years" discussion. She had it for 3 weeks before our wedding and it stayed at one of our friends garages. I had no idea that my wedding present was going to be a Cobra. I don't know man, you're the only one having a hard time with this....

Donnie, sounds like your wife's a wonderful woman. Congratulations.

I felt pretty lucky simply to have a wife who understands (or is this word, tolerates?) my Cobra mania. Yours went one further.

Not a problem for me, I just don't buy it. With all the variants out there, from chevy SBs and auto trans to 800 hp blown 4-speed SOHCs to good, bad and out of business replica builders ... leaving this kind of thing to chance for big $$ is likely not in the cards. Otherwise, I would have to believe that she went out and just happened to hit your 'list of particulars' with no coaching from you.

Under the hood: professionally rebuilt 428FE powerplant with the best of everything, including Crower cam, Edelbrock Performer manifold, 750 cfm Holley, Ceramicoated headers & sidepipes, Aeroquip stainless-steel hoses & fittings throughout, MSD billet distributor, 6AL ignition box. Ford toploader 4-speed gearbox with big input shaft and close-ratio gears and Lakewood bellhousing. Suspension: totally-rebuilt Jag XKE front suspension with torsion bar, Delrin bushings, Wilwood Superlite II 4-piston calipers, heavy duty swaybar and Carrera shocks; rear end: rebuilt 3.31:1 ratio XJ6 IRS positraction, Bulletproof halfshafts and 4 polished Aldan adjustable shocks. Cockpit: original-style Smiths gauges with reverse 180 mph speedometer and dash layout, original-style Lucas switches, hardwood-rimmed Moto–Lita steering wheel, Simpson 5 pt racing harnesses, AC brake and clutch pedals.

Regardless, best of luck with it, whether or not I believe it is of no consequence.

It doesn't make any difference if he got it from the 7 Dwarfs! The guy got a nice car. Leave it be. Be happy for him.

I'll start over for you.

CONGRATULATIONS on the car! I believe you but I think the wedding is Bill$hit. Post pictures of the two of you driving away or all credibility is gone.

To many pot stirrers here. Just keep a list and skip over their posts, because they are usually BS anyways. Congrats on the car, and I don't care if you found it in a box of Cracker Jacks, it's beautiful.

Donnie,

You are indeed one fortunate person and that is a really nice Cobra. And you sure got a great wife. Pay no attention to the ones who find something to complain about as they always do. You are going to have a lot of fun and enjoyment and what better way than with a new wife and Cobra. Congratulations and I am jealous.

Ron

My buddy did a "hip view" video of me walking out of the restaurant. Apparently everyone in our group knew except me. It actually makes sense because my step mom kept drinking all my wine. As I look back it makes sense. I'll have my buddy email me the video. We watched it about 10 times between Thursday night and the wedding on Saturday. I will post it here because it does in fact show me and the wife pulling out of the parking lot in the Cobra. Thanks to everyone. Local guys, I'll be seeing you soon. I'll be surfing here for info, I have A LOT to learn about this car. Luckily, the previous owner is an awesome guy and was waiting for me to call him once I got my present. He has been great since.

Smile

I also am looking forward to the video. Even some still pictures would be nice. Of course being newly married will most likely cut into the picture taking time for a while. The best of times to both of you.

Hi Donnie,

Congrats from the UK on your new wife ... what a great wedding gift from her ... if she can cook as well, you're going to have a very happy life! Have fun making the baby that you are going to leave the 427 to, but don't let him/her learn to drive in it!

Regards, Mike

Thumbs up

Congratulations on both the Cobra and on hitching up with such a fun and thoughtful girl! Many years of enjoyment ahead.

Thanks everyone!!! I'll post the video and pics when I get back from my honeymoon. We're doing a 12 day cruise of the Med, so don't expect much contact from me as we leave tomorrow. See you guys a little later.

Redmt, tell Ron and the gang sorry the CobraRegistry.com thing didn't work out. I guess if you want a 'polite forum' that shields opinions toward that end - that's the place to hang out. By the way, I have no issue with you posting links to conversations here over there, but others might find that a little adolescent and kind of chickenchit. Actually surprised one admin (darren) actually seems to endorce it by his actions, more reason CobraRegistry ain't for me, done.

You were banned over there for you constant attacks on other members. It continues over here. I don't get it , I really don't? Why is it every time you drop in to a thread it's with personal attacks and mean spirited comments? Don't you ever have anything positive to say? Can't you play nice with the other guys? Nobody is out to get you, yet your like the little guy who backs himself into a corner and every time someone comes near, you lunge out and attack.

Donnie,

Add my congratulations to those of the rest and if I were in your place no one would hear from me at all until the honey moon was over. Have a great time and all the best to you and the new bride.

Ron
