CCX Cockpit Size
Hi guys, just a comment really.
I fitted one of my seats at the weekend so it's the first time I've been able to gauge the size of the cockpit, I was surprised how short it is.
I'm only 5' 9" and need the seat as far back as it will go, so how does anyone taller get on or in?

What kind of seats Kevin? We have a whole bag of tricks to get a big fella in them.

Hi guys,
I think the seats I have are a little taller in the back rest than others so I think they would go back further if the were shorter.
The rear of the back rest hits the rear deck.
They are a traditional Cobra Style seat but a bit taller to help with our UK registration regulations they also have detachable head rests.
Interiors Seating - RX1191 - Classic and Kit Car Seating - Cobra Replica Seat Specialists
I also had them heated while I was at it.
Sad I know, but I like to drive in the winter.

I am 6'3" 287#. The original seats were unacceptable as it prevented any form of driving. I removed the seats and had some ("cushions") made that look exactly like the seat but rest on the floor and the bulkhead. I went down 6" and back 7". My head is now well below the top of the windsheild and I feel like I'm in the car rather than sitting on it.

You guys should see Shelby sitting in a Cobra. He was well over 6' and fit just fine. It amazed me to watch him get in and out...even at 84 years old.

Neat pic Dan, that's with a hard top on wow. Davids also got a steering extension to get the wheel a bit closer and get it away from his knees. Those custom seat cushions turned out great.

Yes Nick, that was a wonderful day. That is CCX 3209 before it got run over. CS signed the car and we spent a couple of hours talking. He was quite a guy. It was amazing to watch him with his 6'6" frame, fold up and slide into the car like he'd been doing it all of his life.
