Default CCX Steering Lock Restriction

Hi Guys,
I'm pretty sure that when i put my wheels on that the inside of the front wheels will rub hard on the inside of the body on full lock.
Is it usually necessary to restrict the steering rack movement to prevent this?
I have the usual XKE rack with George Petrus' hubs and steering arms.
I don't know if I'm imagining it but it looks to me like the wheel that's turning in has a lot more lock than the wheel that's turning out.
This may all change when the car is on the floor rather than on stands with the suspension on full droop?

Hey Kev you are seeing it right. It's called the Ackerman principle where the inside wheel turns a sharper radius than the outside because of the cars width. It should however be even from side to side and not rub.

Is your wheel tracking alignment correct? Has the rack been centered in relation to the steering wheel ?

Yes the rack is centred OK its doing the same both ways.
Hi Ade, I'd thought about putting lock rings on the rack, as I say I IVA will be an issue if I don't.

Is your car equiped with the correct tie rods? I think the tie rods for the sedan are longer.

I can adjust the track to parallel so I guess they must be OK.
