West Coast Cobras are the widest ones I know of, and the rear width specification on those is 76", with the front being 68". Comtemporary Cobras s/b narrower than the WCC, I'm guessing roughly 72". http://www.cobrakit.com/Specificatio...ifications.htm

I always like the contemporary Cobra, back in the late 80'si look at both kits ERA and Contemporary. But couldn't afford it at the time, so I built a midstates kit. Drove it for a bit then sold it. I think either car ERA or Contemporary you can't go wrong.

Just a matter of personal preference I guess. CCX cars are quite a bit cheaper across the board comparatively speaking.

Take a look at this Contempory Cobra at Jonathon Motorcars in New Jersey, he is a backdraft dealer, but has a black contemporary, he has it listed for $149,000.00.

That car has been on/off ebay for months now, and the price keeps changing. I think I saw it listed for half that price on his website, depending on which URL you happen to click/find. LOL

I think the $150K price and the resemblance of CCX vs CSX nomenclature might easily confuse a more money than brains collector into thinking this is the deal of a lifetime and he just found a cheap Shelby Cobra. Better jump on that and buy it before somebody else catches on....

The car had also been on Cobra Country at $54k then reduced to $49k, so I called them. The guy Andy starts out by saying "Yea we really don't want to sell it." Then why list it? And why $149k when it's elsewhere at $49k? Typo? "No, actually we put the $149k up to discourage people from calling." Then why the hell list it? What gives. "Well look, if you want to make an offer of at least $60k we will consider it." Pass, I am not spending $60k. "Well have you considered a Backdraft? We are a Backdraft dealer and.....blah blah blah."

So it's bait and switch, they are using it to generate leads for their Backdraft business.
