Thanks Stephen. I see you are located in Germany so perhaps Happy Thanksgiving was a silly thing to say.
The NY registration is a 1965 Ford Coupe.

Rick,
Don't go below 70. No reason to unless it is an emergency to off load the car to care for your sister.
I love the color combination. Back 3 years ago I almost bought the same car in Texas. Got my offer in too late.
There are cars not nearly as nice and well-equipped as yours in the asking ranges of 70's.

No problem, Rick. Thanksgiving turkey is popular here, too!

Thanks Jeff,
I appreciate your input and positive comments. Still trying to figure a way out of this.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and didn't eat too much!
All the best.

Hello Marvin,
Sorry to be so lame. Haven't checked the board lately and thus didn't respond to your question about the photos. Have been pulling my rapidly graying hairs out trying to figure out a way to avoid selling the coupe. I haven't put it up for sale on any sites as yet hoping that I'll have a giant brain fart and...
Well anyway, am thinking about asking $70-$75K for it which would be negotiable.
All the best to everyone for a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2011!
Rick

Hello all, I'm a new Superformance Coupe owner from the UK.
I spoke to Rick Weber a few times by email about possibly buying his car, but there are too many hurdles involved (financially, logistically and bureaucratically) in buying from the States and importing to the UK. So I found a very good 2005 UK example over here with only 3,000 miles on it. I have now increased that to over 3,500 and will almost certainly double its mileage this summer. These things are made to be driven, not stored in a garage for an annual beauty parade.
Having done a lot of competitive single seater and GT racing in the past, I want to race this machine occasionally for fun in an interesting race series just a few times a year. I'll keep it street-legal with its carpets, etc, but I might be asking a few questions about suspension options, tyres (sorry, "tires" ), and other details.
A few photos:

registering a daytona coupe in New York
Rick
I am considering buying a daytona coupe, and as I live in Rye, NY, I am
wondering if there is an issue in registering this type of car in NY.
Your advice on this issue is important

Hey Ermenasce,
Rick here. Are you buying a new one, or are you buying one from someone who already has it registered/titled? The one I bought was registered/titled in the state of Maine. It was no problem to register it in NY. I'm sure all they really wanted was the sales tax $$$!!! It is registered as a 1965 Ford by the way. That being said, if you are buying a NEW one then it may be more complex what with pollution/safety requirements. You'd have to check with the DMV regulations. Or perhaps someone on this site might chime in.
Another beautiful thing about having it registered as a 1965 is that it only requires a safety inspection. Come to think of it...I gotta do that this month! LOL.
If you have any interest in seeing mine or discussing other issues please let me know.
Rick
