Originality--Differential cooler
One area, I have not seen discussed before is the differential cooler on the Daytona Coupe. I would suspect that is because most people are inaware that there was a differential cooler. The other is that it is completely hiddden from view.
Again, I can only tell you what was on CSX--2286, but I believe all the cars used a similiar system. First the differential cooler has a scoope on the floor pan behind the passenger seat. It extends below the floor pan. It is ducted with a small oiler cooler sitting upright in the middle of the duct. The exit is just a hole in the floor pan behind the cooler. Located above the cooler duct is a circulation pump. Thius pump was a Ford power steering pump without the reservior tank wrapped around it, tapped for AN fittings. Power for it came from a belt connected to a pulley on the front of the differential behind the U-joint.
Fluid was added by a tank that was under the back window on the right side of the car. It was mounted on the inner wall mid-way up the opening.
