Default Advice on first cobra purcahse

Hello all,

I'm in the market for purchasing my first replica. I've been viewing this one car i've had my eye on that I believe i will attempt to make an offer on. Below i have listed what all is in the car, the body and paint all looks to be in excellent shape. Can someone let me know if this is a reasonable price for such a car. They are asking approx 25,000.00.

Chassis - Tubular Frame w/ two main 4" rails and parallel ladder construction w/ box cross bracing, jigged and MIG welded, 1/8" thick.
Engine - RHS Magnum 5.73ltr 400 BHP@5,500 rpm and 375lbft @3,500rpm ( Car weighs 2,200lbs - do the power to weight ratio.......)
Carb - Holley 650 cfm double pumper, billet baseplate, and Edelbrock Performer intake manifold.
Summit Racing fuel pump 140gph.
Suspension - late model Corvette (all aluminum components), transverse composite leaf springs and anti roll bar.
Rear suspension (also Corvette) fixed length half shaft 2 lateral links and two trailing links per side.
Leaf springs are Corvette specialty parts for lighter weight vehicle.
Dana 36 rear differential 3.07:1 ratio - posi-traction
Interior - all leather - including dash.
Cooling Systems - Griffin copper brass, 4 row cross flow radiator, Aluminum expansion tank, remote oil cooler, Aeroquip lines and anodized fittings. Oil pump is high capacity and heavy duty (total oil system capacity is 11 qts)
Transmission - Doug Nash (Richmond Gear) 5 speed (low gear ratio 3.27:1) final drive is 1:1. Hurst shifter. Tilton Racing Hydraulic clutch and Center Force clutch plate.
Instrumentation - Stewart-Warner instrument package. Speedo, Tach, Ammeter, oil press, water temp, oil temp, and fuel.
Brakes - 11.5 x 0.8" vented disk (all around). Brake bias can be adjusted.
Wheels - Compomotive 15" rims Haldibrand replicas (2 piece rims) 9" front and 10" rear.
Deist 5 point safety harness, and lap belt for passenger.
Battery located in trunk, and trunk is fully carpeted.

The car has won numerous awards in the early nineties with the first owner (Alibrandi), but I have not placed it in any shows since I have owned it.

Would be helpful to know the kit manufacturer. Tubular - is that rect tube or round tube? With all of the corvette suspension it SOUNDS like it might be an older Everett Morrison cobra out of Tampa, Florida. Enzo Alibrandi - owner of the Finish Line - an importer and distributor of a lot of kit components (Moto Lita etc), has built several EM cobras .. he is a pretty talented mechanic & builder. Saw a yellow EM that he built with a 427 side oiler...real pretty car (don't like yellow myself ... but the car was sensational). 5 speed transmission with a final 1:1 = pretty much for racing. Would be turning pretty high rpm on the highway at 80 mph.

My advice would be to get with some local owners and look at their cars, maybe go for a ride or... if you you're real nice to one of them, drive it!
Look at the different ones and sit in them. They aren't all the same size exactly.
Then make an offer on one. There's lots of them for sale right now and you can have your pick.
Thats my advice.

I know the car, and yes,it was owned by Enzo and Paula at Finishline, but is not the same as when they sold it. My advice, if you are unsure of what you are looking at, bring someone along who does. Especially when it comes to a hand built car such as a Cobra replica.
