Nice Coupe on Flea Bay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=300057735469
Lots of upgraded bits, well sorted, looks like.
I think I'll join the bidding...

Dannggg! lost it by $55! How the heck do you bid against a guy whose buying history is: last activity '03, last purchase - candlesticks, never a purchase at ebay motors...???

Ray,
Sorry you lost the bid...especially over a lousy $55. It would've definately completed your collection of cars. Anyhow, i'm sure you'll get one sooner or later. Hopefully i can get mine done in a reasonable amount of time.
Good luck with the hunt.

This was a smokin' good deal! 414 CID Engine by Elliot Franklin of Auburn, CA w/ Fuel injection on a Dart block. Whoever scored this car has one of the best running coupes in the world! Hope to see this one at SAAC's annual meeting this summer in Salt Lake City. Badger

According to the e-bay listing the winning bid was $56,555? Sounds kind of low, or someone did get an out of this world deal (IMHO).

That is a good deal for a pretty car that certainly seems to have improved on some of the 'stock' stuff on a standard offering. I'm still not crazy about the mis-match of parts from so many suppliers, but at that price I don't think you can lose money.

There's a little ray of sunshine in those facts.... it could be a bogus bid by a hijacked account. Just don't walk away.
Contact the seller offline and express an interest in the car as a losing bidder, in case the original deal falls through.

Ray -
If it's of any consolation, you may have lost by a lot more than $55 depending on what the winning bidder's max bid was. He only had to pay a little more than the second highest bidder (you), but he may have been willing to go much higher.

It says the winning bid was 56,500 or was that 55,600, either way....you can't buy one minus powertrain for that. We wouldn't take that for ours and it has between 7-8000 miles. If it wasn't a stolen identity( it happened to a friend of mine) he got a hell of a deal.

Well, may he had a "friend" bidding on it to jack up the price, and JCoop was the highest "other" bidder? When no one else bid what he wanted, his "friend" would get it, and then the deal would mysteriously (and quietly) fall through...?
$55 sounds a little fishy, but maybe Computerworks is right, call the guy...

Unfortunately..it wouldn't be the first time and not likely the last. Probably cheaper than paying the listing fee for the reserve.
