Nice deal for someone who wants to get into a coupe at a great price. Good luck on the sale Scott. Have you listed it on Cobra Country as well?

Darned tough market right now just like the Timber market and probably for the same reasons....
Maybe a few more pictures of the build with details would help. Have you put it on Cobracountry, and/or fleabay, etc... even craigslist sometimes you'll run into the right buyer. The more shoppers you put it in front of, the better chance somebody will decide they can't live without it.
In this market you may take a real hit on the price, though, regardless of what it is worth.
Good luck
Bob

I agree with Bob. Cobra Country, Craigslist, eBay. You need eyeballs and potential buyers. Cobra Country seems to get a lot of exposure, especially International buyers.

Scott,
That is a very nice Coupe and I have looked at it since you first listed it for sale but living in California I would never be able to get it registered. Otherwise you would have heard from me some time ago.
And as stated above, right now it is hard to sell anything. I believe there are only one or two Cobras left around here and we used to have around 10/15 of them. Most sold at a lot less than the owners first listed them for, and they had the SB-100 number that this state requires. Best of luck and I wish you well.

Ron,
Just curious why you couldn't register it CA. If it's legally registered in Oregon, couldn't someone just take it through the SB100 process?

Scott,
That is a really nice coupe. But as others have said the market is just tough right now.
Much as the construction slow-down ultimately caught up with the timber market. The car market is swollen with "Must Sell Right Now" cars. And some of them are really nice as well.
Here is a link of a newsletter that goes out every couple of weeks. There is a For Sale section (near the bottom) You may try to list it there for now and see what happens.

SB 100 is for cars you build...A completed car must have 7,500 miles on it to register it in CA.

The right buyer, an electric drill with the right connection to the speedo cable, and you're all set. My brother actually ran into this problem when he tried to register a motorcycle in CA that he was bringing in from NV.

Then all you have to do is come up with all the receipts and keep looking over you shoulder!

Doug,
The mileage thing aside I would have to use the SB-1578 process which still uses the same 500 numbers that the SB-100 bill does. It was written to let people who buy out of state registered cars register them In California, but up here in the far Northern part, we can't get a DMV that will try at all to get one of the numbers. They want nothing to do with them. Also there is a little difference in the paper work required as they want to see the value of the car since you bought it used and don't have all of the receipts for the various major parts. That is what had hurt the California market for people selling cars here. If I knew one of the politicians and could get a number reserved, and yes that is illegal but I know for a fact that it has been done and is still being done at times, then it would be worth the drive to Sacramento to find a DMV that would register it.
