I was at SAI on Monday (and probably going back today to see Gary Patterson) but noted they had two SPF Coupes in the Cobra area. He didn't know if these were the first two CSX9000 cars. I'll ask Gary if I go.

So it's an updated Superformance with a $106K option for an aluminum body. That's a lot of press for some nameplates and an alloy option.

Actually, there are many differences on the SPF MK II coupe, revised suspension with wheels that have more "dish" to improve the look, power windows, rear scoops integrated into the body and interior revisions with seats moved inward for more room, etc. The "Shelby" gaff is just a part of it.

At $250,000+ "all in" for the alloy car, once taxes, engine, tranny, etc. are installed, FOR ME, there are WAY WAY too many other choices that I would rather have.

And the line would start with this car:

Dr. Knock, -- but Sir-- any wanker with a black Amex can get a 430/458 ferrari.

-- it takes a true devoted enthusiast and project manager ( and someone who will put up with S*@WS((@S - to get a Shelby. )

things are easier to get a car now, but still tough. -- and I can t tell you how many 360's and 430's i have seen this week in monterey.

-- but i can tell you how many daytona coupes; 2. CSX2601 and Lances Demo SPF.

There have been a bunch of Cobras running about, FF's, CSX, SPF, -- all happy people-- and no 2 cars alike.

the 430s. -- red.red.red.red. and red with a black 2 tone ( kinda like that one )

If Shelby is going this direction with the CSX9000 coupe that probably means Ford has no plans to build that cool protype Coupe they showed back in 2006.........

I wonder what Peter Brock thinks of all of this. Did HE design these changes? After all, this was his car / design.
The article doesn't say anything about the new cars weight. I'm betting it's heavier than the old one. Who needs power windows in a car like this? And those door handles are fugly.

Yep, I'll take an "old" Brock Coupe anyday.

The 2006 Ford GT would be near or at the top of the list as well. FOR ME, that's crazy money for that kinda car.

I believe the Kirkhams are building or will be building their Daytona for a lot less money.

Do you have any info on the Kirkham Coupe???

They did buy an aluminum body from Mike last year and are digitizing it so they can make their own.

Updates?????
