leak free Toploader?
I completely rebuild my transmission some years ago, but soon after that it started to leak from every seam. Now that the engine is out I want to finally get rid of that problem too.
I installed the gaskets dry the first time and only used sealer on the bolts that go into the housing.
I have a new set of gaskets ready, and I want the gearbox to be leak-free this time. I already found the recommandation to put RTV into the openings in the front face of the case where the freeze plug sits and the countershaft end can be seen.
What else is recommended? Installing the gaskets dry again or with sealer? What kind of sealer do you guys use, and where?
