Unhappy can anyone help id this?

ok,i have looked the top loader site up and down case number is D2AB comes to a 72 stang or mavrick,ok,did the three speeds for this year have a over drive or something? if i look at the pictures on the site of the four speed it looks just like mine! iam telling you twins! but it has to be a three speed as it only has two shift arms iam going nuts! and it dosent seem like i can get any help at all,this also has some kind of adapter on the back that is held in by about 3/4 phillip heads where the shifter mounts,it does have a ford part number on it and i will get that on here tommarow.the bell housing part number is D1TA,this two comes back to a 4 speed it has the 8 bolt hole mounts on the case ect? what the heck?? can any one please please help?the tail shaft measures 15 inches with a part number of C4DR-7A040-B,CASE NUMBER D2AB 7006 AND FALLOWED BY TO BIG LETTERS OF ABTAG NUMBER ARE RAN CA1 UNDER THAT IS CA 028646 THE FRONT BEARING RETAINER IS C5AR 7050 LETTER B OR NUMBER 8 I CANT TELL CAN ANY ONE HELP?

The bodies of three speed and four speed do look about the same. The tag on a four speed will start with HEH- something. You probably have a three speed. I believe there was a three speed overdrive , and I do believe you're supposed to stay away from it. Call David Kee and he'll tell you what it is.

I think the 3 speed was just very weak. This IS the Cobra forum, if you're putting it into a cobra, I wouldn't. But maybe if your putting it into annother car to be correct, well I can see that. Like I said, give David a call @ 877-276-8081, he will know EXACTLY what you have and give you recommendations.
