Top Loader "rumble"
Once in a while will cruise'n on the hi-way, fourth gear, the trans will start to rumble. Slight vibration, sounds like a bad bearing but then goes away.
Not sure on the mileage as I bought it used. Any idea's????? Time for a rebuild???

Sure it isn't sound/vibration transfer from the differential or u-joints? I'd climb under and see if there is any excessive play in the differential or u-joints.
What rpm does it usually vibrate at? Can you duplicate the effect with the driveshaft disconnected?

If drive shaft it would do it all the time. U-joints and rear are fine. It's definitely trans. It's only done it in fourth gear at cruise speed (60-70mph) 2600-3000rpm range.

I disagree, if a driveshaft is out of balance at a certain rpm, it will vibrate. I had a 2002 Mustang GT that I put a 4.10 gear in. Since the driveshaft was spinning fast wtith the low gear (and it wasn't balanced for it), at about 85-90, it would be spinning in a range where it would vibrate the rear of the car.

By all the time I mean at the said rpm. Doesn't alway's do it at said rpm. Only once in a while then stops without rpm change.
