Default Sebring

Here's what i learned today, talking to Elinor Orman ,track co-
ordinator at Sebring. (1-863-655-1442, x5):
As I suspected, they are booked till June for weekends. Weekdays
probably not do-able for most members.
3.6mi (full course) rents for $6500/DAY!!!!
1.6mi (modified road course) goes for $4500/DAY!!!
Insurance is available at additional cost, depending on type of
event. "Ride & Drive" ins approx $745/day, "Time Trials", $1800/day. There is a Hotel/Spa on site. You can increase participation/cut cost by sharing with other clubs. This may be the way to go. Other clubs running there include Florida branches of
BMW,Corvette, Porsche, and Ferrari clubs. Talk about built-in
competition!!!!
I don't think we want to be in Central Fl in June or July (or August
or Sept!!) Fall or Winter would be best. Too late for this year unless we can hook-up with another club that is already on their
schedule. March is definitly out, due to the "Big One", but maybe
we could snag something in April. I'll try to find what clubs have
what dates and try to contact them and see if they would mind
some " party crashers". Think of it: smoke a vette, BMW, porsche,
and ferrari, all in one (or two) day(s)!!!!!!!

Talking Increasing fun is increasingly expensive!

Thanks for all of the research, Motorhead. I think the only hope that the
DSCC ever has of attending Sebring will be as party crashers (i.e. parasites)
as we used to call them.
I'm game if we can get the total car cost into the 200 - 300 dollar range
including insurance. More than that, and I feel most people just won't show.
However, I could be wrong......

Keep digging and let us know what you find out! Again, thanks!
