Talking November lunch get-together? Anyone?

Okay guys, we had the following attendees at last month's luncheon:

Toy Collector (SPF)
Jeff Neely (ERA)
WD Goldsmith (& his lovely wife) (SPF)
Chip (Unique)
patrija (Unique)
And of course, your's truly (Honda Accord )

Everyone expressed an interest in having another get-together in November. This event is open to EVERYONE. If you wanna drive from out of state, that's fine with us! If you live in the Atlanta area and wasn't able to make it last month, then here's your second chance!

We had discussed meeting at Auto Motif (auto memorabilia store), which I think is located in Marietta? Smyrna? Can't remember. Is that meeting place still fine with everyone?

I will be in GA for the entire week of Thanksgiving, and the two weekends before and aft. So anytime in that range is great with me. What do you guys think about Saturday, November 17th?

Please chime in and let me know who's interested. Also let me know if that day is good for you. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate again!

Keith

Keith, it's fine with me, I may need to have wife and kids come to this one if wife freaks out. I am also tentatively doing a Porsche mountain drive on Sunday. Also, I was at AutoMotif today actually, and he said he'd be thrilled to have a Cobra gathering at his place, it's right on S. Atlanta St in Smyrna, south and west of the Galleria.

I should be there as well. I am "hopefully" and "finally" going to get my car back from SA tomorrow! Should be running great and with a new turkey pan to boot!

I'm not sure where the store is. Anyone have directions or an address? Also is there a lunch or beer place nearby?

And any additional information you would like to provide.

Hope the map helps you folks.

I wold like to come to the lunch...
I have not been to auto motif in ages. I thought it had closed. There goes my budget.
By the way, anybody want to tour Earnie Elliots engine shop today ? Toy Collector ? I know it is short notice, but I am going. We can drive a cup car on his runway too if we want to. I will be leaving at 1:30 and going through Roswell to Dawsonville. I think xlguru has my phone # if somebody want to go.

Default Elliot Shop

John I would have gone with you but my wife just left and my little girl is sleeping. I still want to see that gt-40 as I have put a deposit one. Next time you go to Dawsonville let me know. Your cousin Jim Strickland and I are Bill's biggest fans. I will be off all week next week, so e-mail and let me know when and if I can come check that car out.

Thanks jeffneely@msn

Thumbs up

John - Good to hear from you! Where you been lately? It would be great to have you at the luncheon. Sounds like we might draw quite a crowd (and quite a bit of attention ).

Jeff - You're gettin' a GT-40?! Oh man! It'll be an ERA, I assume. Are you going with a turn-key this time? Or do you plan to do it yourself again? I hope you can make it to lunch on the 17th.

I sent WD Goldsmith an email, but haven't seen a reponse yet. I may need to give 'em a call to see if they'll be around. Hopefully, they can make it as well.

What do you guys think about a time? I'm completely open, so I really have no preference. Somebody make a suggestion and we'll vote.

Man, it takes a guy from South Carolina to get a bunch of Atlanta guys together. What a shame.

(Hopefully it won't always be you).To answer your question I am going to build it myself.

Keith,
I would send you the information you requested but then I would be in the DSCC database twice. I'm in there, just look a little harder.

Guys - sorry for the delay in responding but have been traveling all week - my wife and I will be there unless it is a bit cool and then it will be just me - count me in.

WD,

Either buy your wife a coat or come on down and visit here in Cape Coral the weather has been Cobra weather all week. You can all come down or I will have to wait for April to see the Georgia group.

Tim - Oops... The next time Dan tells me that someone's not in the list, I'm gonna check it myself instead of taking his word for it.

WD - Glad you'll be there! Try to bring your wife along. Mine will be there also.

John,

I just logged into the board (Monday) and am sorry I didn't get your post until today. Would have loved to go, although breaking loose on a workday is sometimes difficult.

Keith,

Have we picked a time yet for Saturday--my son's soccer team is in the tournament still and we have a game that should end around 11:30, which means I could be at Auto Motif/Lunch around 12:15.

Let's say 12:15-ish for a meeting time at Auto Moyif. If you're a little late, it won't be the end of the world, since we'll probably all be inside drooling over the model cars and such.

You guys chime in and let me know if that time works for you.

Smile Here's the latest...

I have the following confirmations thus far:

Me and my wife (and maybe my cousin Adam)
Toy Collector (and maybe family?)
patrija
Chip
(emailed me offline)
tim
WD Goldsmith
(and maybe wife?)
John Woerheide
David Crace
(emailed me offline)

Here's a list of the cars that we may have in attendance (weather permitting):

2 or 3 SPF's (depending on how many WD brings)
2 Uniques
1 Everett-Morrison
1 ERA
(FIA)
1 AC Cobra or GT-40 (depending on what John brings)
1 Honda Accord (Now we're talkin' baby! Oh yea! )

If anyone else in the area would like to attend, please drop by the Auto Motif (map above) at 12:15 on Saturday (17th). My wife and I look forward to seeing you guys again and meeting a couple of new ones.

And if you're really nice, I might let you sit in the Honda.

Keith
