This the fourth year 2013, of the 24 hour cobra runs out of Jacksonville, Florida. Randy Dender and his local Deep South Cobra Club member Ricky Harper started this run four years ago and it became very popular with the northern end of Florida and states above. One week before the start of the 3rd or 2012 event Randy was killed while driving his cobra. Now and forever this 24 hour event will be called (Randy’s Tour De La Cobra).

I’m glad we all had a chance to meet Jackie Riobe as I tried to get (daughter of) Paula and Enzo Alibrandi to join us at one of the first gathering of the Deep South Cobra Club. If enthusiasm and energy will get the job done, Jackie will make her new endeavor Finish Line fly.

Ted has had this Kirkham for way over 10 years, trying to restore it after an engine fire where the front aluminum and interior was now GONE. The car has only been on the road for about 6 months. When Ted backed it out of the trailer the engine was clacking and on our first day run Ted hung back.
A copy of my email from Ted:Turns out I must have missed a valve adjustment lock nut on the pass side. Pulled VC, found nut lying on head, adjuster backed out a couple turns, no damage. Put it back together, ran fine and we intercepted the group at the last stop, diner at Lang's in St Mary's, Ga. Didn't see you there ?!
However, during that trip the engine was still having carb "teething" problems, loading up or fouling plugs due to the too rich mixture, so we opted out of the second day and went to St Augustine.
I bailed early and did not make the diner at Lang's.

I had British Steve arrested by one of our finest while at Camp Blanding as Steve was acting up again.
It seems it was a really bad day for law enforcement and cobra owners when about 10 cobra drivers got pulled over for going through a STOP sign, they all got off with a speech.
