Flash, Thrash and Dash being held Jan 19, 20 & 21.
Fello Cobra owners and enthusiasts...
FYI, the Flash Thrash and Dash is right around the corner. 1/19, 20, 21.
Last years event was great and I wanted to pass this info on to any of you who might be interrested in a pre-gainesville tuneup event.
Saturday is a huge Cobra car show (last year we had over 30 Cobra's ) and a leisurely 30 mile "Cobra" cruise up the intercoastal waterway. Stopped at a seafood restraunt for drinks and socializing. Got a chance to share Cobra stories and dine on some of FLorida's best seafood.
Afterwards, we all got together at the Jupiter Waterfront Inn and enjoyed the heated pool for more food, drinks and pre-race trash talk. Reservation # is: 888-747-9085
Group rate is $127.00 per night. Ask for the Cobra discount.

Sunday morning, all the Cobra's gathered together and convoyed up I-95 to Palm Bay for a day of SCCA sponsored racing.
Afterwards, awards and trophys were given to the fastest times posted in each class and the fastest overall time of the day.
It was one of the best Cobra events I have ever attended and wanted to pass on this invitation.
More information can be found at the following link...:

Yes, it's last years link, but the hotel and other info is very helpful.
The link to this years event is here:

Hope to see you all there.

Ed,
I sent a letter from John Phillips about this event to all the DSCC members. Many were sent back because of the following- ACCOUNT INATIVE - ACCOUNT OVER QUOTA - PERMANENT FATAL ERRORS - NAME NOT RECOGNIZED - ADDRESSES UNKNOWN. The only way we can contact our members is with email, please do your part and read your mail to keep your account cleaned out. If you have changed your email address notify us.
Thanks again, Dan

Happy New Year, and that means just three weeks til Flash, Dash and Thrash II. All Cobras, Replicas, Roadsters, and Cobra-esque conveyances of any manufacturer are welcome at the Show (Flash), the Cruise and Friday-night Drags (Dash), and the Autocross (Thrash).
Mike Mack/TriStates Motorsports is sponsoring this thing, and he's trying to get a handle on how many people are planning to attend. If you're coming, please contact him ASAP at tristatemotors@mindspring.com to confirm, and maybe send him some $ too...I'm mailing $50 for the whole shebang tomorrow. Hope to see you down here in the warm sunshine Jan. 18-20, 2002!
(If you can't bring your Cobra, fly down anyhow and autocross your rental car...we'll have a class for everybody, even if you rent a truck!)

I was at the Tequesta show on Saturday last year and sent an email off to John to ask direction for my self and those that might need some refresher also, here is his directions:
Dan, drive east on Indiantown Road, Exit 59A from I-95, into Jupiter. Turn
left on U.S.1, heading north. Drive a couple of miles north, over the
Jupiter Inlet bridge, seeing the Jupiter Lighthouse on your right. At the
first light past the Lighthouse, you come into Tequesta. At the very next
light, maybe 1/4 mile or so north, you turn left onto Tequesta Drive, and
that's where the car show is. Should be a beautiful setting this time; the
commercial building construction project that was underway last year is all
done, and we're supposed to be in front of it on a brand-new brick paved
circle street, a short block from the intersection of Tequesta Dr. and U.S
1. See you there! John Phillips
Thanks John,
Last year there was about 30-35 Cobras and I think there will be a lot more this year. To bad Mike Mack doesn't have Jim O'Briens FFR Coupe done yet, I would like to see his car. When he does get it, I only have to run up to Port Charlotte to take a peak. Not sure yet if I can make it, but if I do, I'll check in with all of you.

From John Phillips
TEQUESTA SHOW: drive east on Indiantown Road, Exit 59A from I-95, into
Jupiter. Turn
left on U.S.1, heading north. Drive a couple of miles north, over the
Jupiter Inlet bridge, seeing the Jupiter Lighthouse on your right. At the
first light past the Lighthouse, you enter Tequesta. At the very next light,
maybe 1/2 mile or so north, turn left onto Tequesta Drive, and that's where
the car show is. Should be a beautiful setting this time; the commercial
building construction project that was underway last year is all done, and
we're supposed to be in front of it on a brand-new brick paved circle
street, a short block from the intersection of Tequesta Dr. and U.S 1.
PArking for cars not in the show will be at the parking lot where we had the
show last year, right next to the show spot.
PALM BAY AUTOCROSS SITE directions for Sunday, Jan. 20 (from CFR-SCCA's
website):
Take I-95 to Exit 70B -- the Malabar Road exit in Palm Bay.
Turn west onto Malabar. Be ready to make a left turn at the first light west
of the interstate, San Filipo.
After making the left turn, the second left will be Community College
Parkway (guess where it goes!). Follow that road approximately two miles.
The event area is the police driving pad at the far southern end of the
complex. There will be a large grass field on your right, just before the
event location.
COBRA CARAVAN TO AUTOCROSS: Most of us will drive up from Palm Beach County
together on Sunday a.m., like last year. We'll meet at Appleby's Restaurant,
I-95 and Indiantown Rd., and LEAVE THE PARKING LOT to head up to Palm Bay at
7:00 a.m. We'll get there around 8:30, set up our pits, register, tech, walk
the course, have novice orientation and a driver's meeting, and plan to
start running at 10:00.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this event. I really wanted to do it, but, alas, too many other committments. I hope everyone that does attend will have a really good and safe time!
All the best to those running, drive fast, hard & safe!

I don't think I will be able to make it this year, I have my cousins coming in tomorrow and I'm still wet sanding on my new paint job. If I do get a chance it will be for Saturday only. I'm sending Jim O'Brien over to sign up anyone that shows that does not belong to our club. He will not be their with his Coupe, it won't be ready until next month. I hope to see everyone come APRIL. Soon very sooooon.
