Talking New Name for DSCC Annual Meeting

Okay, here's your chance to vote for a new name for the Annual Deep South Cobra Club Meeting!

You choose....
1) Annual DSCC Pool Party
2) Annual DSCC Car Wash
3) Noah's Annual Rainfest and Ark Building Competition

Seriously...THANKS for all the organizational and planning efforts! I know how hard these events are to plan and coordinate, get sponsors for, find hotels willing to give a deal, find locations and venues to handle that many folks, etc. Your efforts were sincerely appreciated.

Keith McFarland (XLGuru)....THANKS...! Nice job getting it all put together!

Bill and Susan Parham (Southern Automotive) Thanks very much for hosting the event at your shop. What an monumental effort it must have been, and you are to be commended for your hospitality and willingness to take on the responsibility.

Enzo and Paula Allibrandi (Finish Line) Thanks for your donations and door prizes. Although I wasn't one of the lucky ones, I sincerely do appreciate your contributions and support.

Dennis Olthoff (Superformance Dealer, Olthoff Racing, Charlotte) Thanks very much for your seminar and Q&A session; it was very informative and I learned some things about silicone brake fluid I didn't know before! Thank you again!

Doug and Ronnie Reed and Krewe (Superformance South, Chalmette, LA) Thanks for the jambalaya and cameraderie! Taking a road trip with your crew must be a REAL trip!

Jerry, Dan, Ruble and all other DSCC members....THANKS for the hospitality! I hate it rained, but you couldn't control it. Nevertheless, 42 cars Saturday in the pouring rain should be a testament to your efforts! THANKS MUCH!

To the weather man, and all the other naysayers, yahoos and whiners who gave me a hard time about leaving my car in the trailer.... Screw you! I just didn't want to hear all the whining when I won yet another Concours trophy! Besides, I'm running out of room for trophies!

Default Yes...

...did you come to the dinner Saturday night? If you had, you would have known who won. Well, you would have known the car numbers, anyway.

Keith / Ruble...can either of you post the results and winners?

Actually, Freddie brings up a very good point here that I'd like to open up for discussion. It seems to me that most of the other Cobra-related events have catchy names like Cobrafest (recently renamed to Homecoming), Double Venom Spring Fling, Flash Dash & Thrash, Run & Gun, etc.

It's just that "The DSCC Weekend" seems to lack a little something. Maybe we could come up with something better? Something catchy? I have no problem using a rain theme, since (a) we all seem to have good senses of humor and (b) it has rained for both events thus far.

Here are some suggestions:

The 2003 DSCC Car Wash (Freddie's idea)
The 2003 DSCC Rain Dance
The 2003 DSCC Slip 'n' Slide (My favorite)
The 2003 DSCC Roadster Rally

Okay guys, the door's open here. Let's hear those ideas!

Keith

Thumbs up Good one Fred....I kinda like that one...

I'd also like to offer up "Wet-N-Wild", we could have it in Orlando near Sea World and have it catered by Red Lobster.

Talking I GOT IT....

DSCC Waterworld.3

I tried to wash my T-shirts I bought Saturday at Southern Automotive when I got back yesterday. They're still in the dryer going 'round and 'round - and they're STILL NOT DRY!

My trailer tires have now been replaced with sponsons, and my Navigator tow vehicle has been fitted with a water ski tow bar. I'm looking for a stainless propellor that will plane out 40+ skiers while still providing the top end I want once I get up on the step!

I didn't sweat this weekend, at all....but I DID rust...!

We're talkin' wet here, folks! Lloyd Bridges (aka: Mike Nelson) has offered to organize next years event. Jacques Cousteau has agreed to host the event, and Dacor has agreed to sponsor it. Door prizes will be offered by SeaDoo, Evinrude, Mercury Marine, and Rebel Bass Boats!

I've already ordered waders for next year's event!

I stayed over on Sunday because I wanted to see if McDonough actually had any nice days without rain, and Sunday was that day. For next years annual outing I have already contacted some one to make us up some Rain Ponchos instead of T-Shirts. Fred I will email you as soon as I get a chance. I'm already planning a second outing for this year maybe in October. Drenched Cobras, Slippery Snakes, Soggy Snakes the list goes on and on.

As your new president I think we need a Wet T-Shirt contest and all you have to do is run out side to compete. This surely will get the rest of our membership out and help us have a bigger turn out for 2003. We do need a name for our 3rd. annual outing. I'm still thinking.
