Offical DSCC Jackets can now be ordered
I just got a Deep South Cobra Club proposal for a club jacket from Phil Monroe. The jacket is in a Khaki color or neutral so the Cobra on the back can be done in the colors of the owners car(Cobra already digitized). The front will have our logo on the right pocket and your name on the left. The logo is being done in a size that can also be put on the front of a baseball type cap (other things to follow). Phil is willing to pick up the cost of digitizing our logo to work on the embroidery machine, if we can get an order of 20 jackets for our 1st order. I have a jacket that I owned and I had about $87 dollars just in the cost of embroidery, his price of $95 total seems very resonable. I'm in for two jackets, one for myself and one for the wife. I'm looking for 18 more jacket commitments. If we come up with 20 total we can get Phil started on our offical club jackets. Phil will run a DSCC section for our merchandise on his web site and handle all the transactions of merchandise and the monies for there purchase. All we need now is a commitment for a jacket purchase, which can be done right on this thread. When we reach our goal of 20, I will turn it over to Phil. The other thing I liked about the jacket that Phil picked out, is it's water resistant finish.
Okay Dan, the DSCC portion of our site is live:
http://www.cobrapromotions.net/dscc.html
The online shopping cart for DSCC items is also live. I
included the jacket, a hat, and a polo shirt for people
to choose from. Feel free to announce the site
whenever you choose. But please be sure to set the
expectation that your logo is in the process of being
digitized, so I can't begin embroidering orders for
about another week or so.
The site takes credit cards or checks.
Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks again
for letting us support your club!
Phil
Thanks in advance.
Phil is going ahead with the digitizing of our club logo even though we have not gotten to our goal of 20 orders. I'm letting you all see what he has up and running. Normal turn around would be about 10 days but allow another week to give him time for our logo.
Dan

Dan -
Thanks for doing the ground work on this for all of us.
Since my car (whenever the darn thing shows up) will be a Coupe, my interest was more towards having that on the back of the jacket.
I checked with Phil Manro of Cobra Promotions, and since the "Coupester" caricature is already digitized, he indicates that it should work as well as his "Snake Eyes" caricature. Consequently, if it is OK with you, he is willing to include it in our order (the logo over the pocket will still be our standard DSCC logo).
So, assuming it is OK with you, you can count me in for one jacket. Again, thanks for getting the ball rolling on this.

I will take one.
You pick the Dog days of April to try and get us to buy Jackets? Now you sound like the stores at the malls selling jackets in summer and baithing suites in winter.

Ruble,
All I'm looking at right now is a commitment for 20 jackets so I can get Phil to pick up the cost of digitizing our logo. As far as needing a jacket, Phil wanted to send me a free jacket, (of course without any embroidery), and I told him that living down here in the really deep south I wouldn't need another jacket. As you can see, I still ordered 2 jackets because it looks like most of our meetings will be up north. Where I have to dig out my long pants and my rain proof jacket. We are headed in the right direction and only need to order 12 more jackets. Keep listing those orders, so I can turn this project over to Phil.

1st Sample Sew-out
We've done the 1st sew-out of the back emblem. It has come out very nice. The emblem will take up almost the entire jacket width, the Cobra image in the center REALLY grabs your attention. The jacket we used for the sew-out is just a sample, and is not as nice as the one you will be getting. We can make the text, car, and stripes any color you choose. If you look closely at the emblem, you will actually see different colors of red within the Cobra to create a "shaded" effect. These pictures do not do this emblem justice, you have to see it!
Full back:
Emblem close-up (6 1/4" wide x 3 1/2" tall!):
...all we need to adjust is the driver's side bumperette. It just needs to be "tightened" up a bit.
Let me know what you guys think!
Phil

Needed a few good jacket orders
Phil,
If you would have done that sample in Yellow with a white stripe you would have my jacket complete. How did you know my first choice was a red Cobra with a white stripe. Where's my buddy Fred we need to order 12 more jackets to get the ball rolling.

Phil told me Fred does want a jacket but that still means at least 11 more orders needed to run with plan A. Next month I will have to go with plan B.

Okay...Heeeeeeere's Freddie.....!
Great looking jacket Phil....See, Dan? I knew Phil's work would impress everyone. I have one of his shirts that I wore to the DSCC dinner meeting, as well as a jacket and hat. Very nice.
Most definetly put me down for a jacket, XL please. If you're going to do a DSCC shirt, I'd like one of those too, Flyin' Freddie on the shirt with the DSCC logo, in XL again. And a hat, too, can't have too many hats. I like the adjustable khaki one, Phil...I know it'll look great with the DSCC logo on it.
Oh...my color choice is blue w/white stripes.
Nice job, Phil...lookin' good!
C'mon, guys....get off your ass and order a jacket so we can take advantage of Phil's offer! You need another jacket for your early AM blasts down the freeway! Whatarya waitin' for....? GET THOSE ORDERS IN...!

Sorry to take so long to reply...
Dan, sorry to take so long to reply to this thread, but I had been on vacation last week and part of the week before that to move my Dad's remaining stuff from his house. We had to move him to a retirement home in January, and then we sold his house in April. I had to be out of the house by 5 May. Then on top of all that, Dad had to have emergency surgery last week right in the middle of me being tied up with his house! Timing couldn't have been worse!
He's still in ICU and probably will be through the week. It's touch and go right now, but he seems to be improving ever so slightly each day. He's pretty wacked out on demerol and adavan just now, so he's not thinking and communicating too clearly. I love him so, and just haven't been able to concentrate on much else for the past two weeks.
I'm glad you liked Phil's stuff. I knew you would and that he would make us a good deal. Thanks for considering his offer....hope I wasn't too pushy.
Pray for my Dad, he needs it!

Fred,
I knew something was up when you didn't reply but we all have problems that we have to have come first in our lives. All of the DSCC will pray for your father. I'm letting this run for one month to see if we can get those 20 jackets that Phil needs to make this work.
Patrija,
I can't see why a white car would be any different, you throw white and many colors of gray on the machine to produce a white Cobra, Phil?

patrija-
I'm fairly confident that I can get the white/blue car to look right on the jackets. The main reason is the size. With the emblem so large, it gives me more flexibility to tweak colors without losing the image. I'll work on getting you a pic of how it would look to be sure that you're happy with it. To get the faded look in the car, I'll try some very light grey or creme.
Thanks for all the compliments guys, my wife and I are working hard to bring you some cool stuff!
BTW, If any of you will be making the trip up North for the Carlise kit car show, we'll be in spot C35. Stop by and say "hello." We'll also have the DVSF II merchandise with us.

Lets make this happen!
All you guys that only ordered a jacket for your self, remember this is a family thing at the DSCC. When your jacket shows up without one for the wife, you'll be sorry. These jackets are much nicer than the rain ponchos needed at all our fuctions. Also remember the Deep South Cobra Club fuctions go on RAIN or SHINE
